I was looking at the other facebook thread and considering all the arguments being made for why the impressions/clicks have seen a decline this week.

Seems to only affect affiliates doing lower volume like less than 5,000 clicks per day average but I could be off there?

I sort of subscribe to the idea a few people in that thread have, that there are just a lot more advertisers on there since the rules change and we're all just fighting for impressions.

I imagine that has facebook tweaking things behind the scenes. What I'm wondering is if maybe setting your daily budget on your campaigns low, effects the algorithm's decision in how many impressions they give you.

Has anyone done anytesting in that area? I've been doing some testing on my own since yesterday but I've got nothing conclusive. I'm one of those less than 5k clicks per day people :D

I asked my rep a few weeks ago if your overall daily budget affects impressions and rate at which they display. He said it does, the higher your budget the more often they'll show your ads and the quicker they'll show your ads. Even considering this, I have trouble coming anywhere close to my daily budget. I spend close to $5k a day, but like a said, no where close to my daily allotted budget.

In terms of campaign per campaign - I set each campaign budget to my daily max, and i haven't noticed any increase in impressions. It seems a lot more is based on your ctr than anything else. Since the ctr is determined by the ad copy, a really good ad copy will spend your budget before you can blink.

Yeah I also noticed weird fluctuations yesterday. I'm also less than $5k/day spend, but it felt like the impressions were coming and going in bursts. Which makes sense if they're trying to give everyone a slice of the impression pie during peak hours.
