ok, going to throw this out there:

how many of the conservatives on here feel that this is ok, even though you know ahead of time, that it will make people of Islamic faith upset and even in some cases, extremely offended?

Just a question. But answer honestly.
 
It's not really about people being upset. The entire idea of South Park is to make a parody out of everything. It's not targeting a single group unfairly.

There have been many more parodies about other religions (mainly Christianity and Judaism) on the show than there have been about Islam. The point about this topic is to try and get those people who get extremely upset whenever a parody is done about Islam or Mohammad to try and see that.

It's just ridiculous for someone to speak in a humorous way in a picture, cartoon, or show about anything related to Islam and receive death threats or be killed. This has been happening way too often of late. The radicals are free to express their views, but heaven forbid someone makes a joke about them.

Reason I'm asking is that I've seen previous threads about this topic on here and there were several people who really took pleasure in supporting the depictions.
I also see on the thread about the mosque being built near ground zero that there are a lot of conservatives who are complaining that it is just a slap in the face to the victims of 9/11 and that they have no right to build there. seems like similar issues, but it's ok depending on what side of that issue you stand.
I know there will be a few coming on here and slamming me for supporting terrorists, which is just ridiculous, but they will say it anyway, and they will say it's not the same, for various reasons only they will believe.
I just find it very hypocritical of both sides when they behave like this.

Seems like people truly take pleasure in offending others, which I find disheartening

I don't understand - South Park makes fun of retards, paraplegics, hill billies, gays, hippies, canadians, mexicans, christians, jews.... pretty much everything under the sun.

But saying they can make fun of everything BUT Islam or Muhammed is downright stupid.

When violence starts calling the shots thats when you know something is wrong - especially for a comedic cartoon...come on, seriously?

I feel like it's more than okay. It's not our job to tip-toe around the feelings and concerns of the radicals under the umbrella of Islam. We live in the Western world. We have fun. We live with freedom and liberty -- and that includes freedom and liberty to poke fun without having to worry about being suicide-bombed. People make fun of Catholic priests (literally) all the time. I take it in stride. I don't go wiring up a half-assed bomb made off of instructions found on a shitty web forum, buy a bunch of propane tanks and drive into Times Square.

Bottom line: it's not our job or responsibility to tip-toe around radical subscribers to an otherwise fine religion.

Honestly, you guys may laugh now and think it's a good idea, but extremists won't learn anything from this or see the point that the page is trying to make. I'm all for joking about religion and making it humorous as long as it's still respected, but these extremists don't see it that way and never will.

Basically, this will cause a lot more trouble, maybe even lives.
 
I was going for a happy, picturesque day... my inspiration comes mostly from nature and the sun and good feelings of happiness. As an aspiring artist I think its important to put your emotions into your creation.

They are posting so many pics on that page so fucking fast its impossible to keep up with finding funny ones... The discussion board replies to some threads there are so fucking funny though.

although to be honest to all people who think muslims are way too sensitive about stuff like this, well I dare you to try something similar with Jews... try to post a funny picture involving the Torrah or something in a newspaper and you'll see what happens. You'll be fired before the printer even finished printing the pic lol... the thing is Jews are too powerful in America, you can't touch them, they hold America by the nutts. That's the difference.
