Has anybody read Griffin's book on Federal Reserve System, "The creature from Jekyll Island - A second look at Federal Reserver System"?

There is also a video presentation of his book on youtube and it is definitely worth watching.

Read it about 15 years ago and it was eye opening to say the least. But that was 15 years ago before I knew what the Internet was and before a lot of the things the Federal Reserve does became more widely known. I'm sure the book still works as a primer on the subject though.

Back then if you told somebody that the Federal Reserve wasn't a part of the government they would look at you like you're nuts. Just like all of the NSA spying - you would think people would actually do something to change things once they're exposed to the truth but, well Boiling frog and all that.

A book on most libertarians shelves, but I don't think most people realize Griffin was a proponent of the Birch society, one of the many arms of Koch brothers.

Nevertheless, the points withstand the direction of the conclusion.

The Birch society predates the Koch brothers.

And both are astroturf at this point.

Paper money... as Elaine from Seinfeld would say - Fake, fake, fake, fake, fake.

Why does "china" give a fuck what the "US" does with their currency?

Ok, I'll answer that. It's because they sent the US a bunch of cheaply made shit. What did the "US" give to china" in return? ... a bunch of cheaply made paper, or promises of such via computer blips.

I think there's a reason why economics is not taught to children from an early age. I think there's a reason why high school graduates don't understand currency, or inflation.
