Fucking epic documentary about a guy who has billions and loses most of it. I thought this was going to be a guarded look into his life, but they really get into it and show everything. I'm not easily entertained, but this was pretty wild. I've never seen someone live so lavishly.

Curious what others take on it will be.

Netflix: Watch The Queen of Versailles Online | Netflix

saw this about a week ago on Netflix. Unreal.

I heard the documentary was supposed to just be about his lavish lifestyle... then it took a turn for the worse and turned into a totally different thing.

I believe he is suing the documentary maker though over libel, etc. lol

Haha. Same here - had no clue he was going to lose it all.

I will have to watch it sometime soon.

My parents wasted a lot of money buying some time share weeks at their Westgate Vacation Villas resort in Kissimmee back in the late 80's.

I actually just watched this the day before yesterday at my brother's request. What a bunch of tards. Absolutely no reason to ever "struggle" if you make that level of income and have any sense. His family were complete leeches too, and it seemed like they weren't paying that nanny anything lol.

I can see how the guy went broke. There was plenty of people on a smaller scale this happened to in the real estate / construction market.

That Vegas building / personal home broke his back.

At least in the end he didnt just blame the bank. But included himself (for borrowing). I wish I could have seen into his life a little more, not the big booby blonde.

Is it just me or did he age a lot towards the end the film. I was actually sad for him.

The unfinished house

90000 sq ft. looks like a mini mall.

Wow! How much do you have to dislike your wife to build a 90,000sqft house, so you only have to see her once or twice a year?

If you wanted to find a family member in that place, you'd have to GPS their coordinates.

Finally watched this last night. Entertaining, but hardly epic. In fact, it almost felt incomplete, like there was an Act 3 missing or something. Maybe because things never reallly got that bad for them and I kept waiting for him to lose everything, which he didn't.

I also think they spent way too much time with his wife and not enough digging into his life. The whole movie just felt very thin and unfinished.

Worth the rental though because seeing what the ultra-rich buy is always entertaining.

Indeed. Watch it for "free" or fuck it. Not worth anyones time.

Why the fuck isn't this available on UK netflix. WHY THE FUCK ISN"T ANYTHING GOOD AVAILABLE ON UK Netflix. FFS.

Just watched it. I thought it was pretty cool they intended to film it during his good times and in the middle of filming they were struggling.

I don't know, I didn't feel bad for him at all. But I think they filmed over 2 years or something. You can also see the kids age a little bit.

I found a few things intriguing:

The banks wanted to fuck him hard

He refused to give up on clearly losing circumstances. Refused to drop the price of his house to something realistic, or even sell the $5mm in marble he had just sitting there, yet he claimed to not be material oriented at all

He lost a shitload of respect for his trophy wife. Seven kids fucked her belly up something cruel, even though she could afford surgery

Apart from the TV and a phone, I saw almost nothing computer related in his home office room thinger

After raising all those kids, the Filipino's English and accent were still significantly worse than Pinoy I've met in Cali

People want to live in Orlando?

People are dumb enough to agree to a $100k+ mortgage on a fucking hotel room that they get for one specific week a year, and are likely to get less than 20 uses out of it

People would buy a week timeshare during the Vegas off-season, when it's cold as shit, and half the women walking around are hookers

Its so that he can keep his mistresses in the same house as his wife without the risk of his wife ever meeting one of them.
