First time in Vegas

What's your budget? You a gambler? You a drinker? Want to see tits? What's your lifestyle? How old are you?

Vegas offers too much to simply blindly give advice without knowing who you are and what you want

I'm a college student, 24 years old, I'm not looking to spend over $2k for the remaining 5 days that I'll be here. Looking for the best bang for the buck. I don't really gamble, but enjoy holdem poker and blackjack.

Let me be more specific:
What are the best places to eat?
Best places to drink?
Casinos to check out?
Clubs? (I heard Tryst was hott)
Etc..

Saw the Cirque De Soleil "Love" it's the beatles one. Was pretty sick. I hear there are a few other awsome shows there now as well.

I'm a vegas native man! If your going to be here for 5 days, we should meet up. I know your probably not interested in talking biz on your vacation, but I could probably show you some cool stuff around town.

Regardless, here's a few cool things you should check out

-Pole Position Raceway (bad ass mini grand prix carts- 55mph)
-Deja Vu - Tits & Alcohol
- Cirque De Solei - (already mentioned, but Ka and Mystere by far are the best)
-The bodies Exhibit is sick as shit!

There is SO much shit you can do here....

Hope you have fun

Just wrote a huge post and basically deleted everything by mistake. Here's the gist of it:

Shows - La reve at the wynn pretty much tops them all. Love, Tarry fator and Carrot top are also great.

Pole postion as mentioned above is great fun and just off the strip near the Palms place.

Cuisine - Lots of siam. Nationally renowned thai food. MUST HAVE! Not far from the strip.

Random - Rock rock climbing center, nevada climbing center. Both great indoor climbing gyms. If your super adventurous, red rock climbing center also offers a very reasonably priced guided climbing tour through Red rock. Great fun. The stratosphere just opened a pretty balsy new ride. Basically a controlled free fall from the top of the tower to just above the ground.

Tons of helicopter tours over the strip at night. Most also offer tours of the dam etc. Lake mead has pretty reasonably priced boat / jetski rentals. You can ride up to just behind the hoover dam. Pretty cool experience.

Clubs - Tryst, XS, Surrender (love this one), anything at the palms.

Citycenter just opened not too long ago as well. Pretty cool to check out. Also a couple clubs here as well although I've yet to get in one...

errr? you responded to wrong guy. I'm not OP. And i'm not gonna be in vegas any time soon. Was there for leadsCon.

@OP Also saw Terry Fater, that wasn't bad. But more of an older crowd. I hear La Reva tops them all in terms of shows...

Table at XS if you're a party person!

I'll second that,,, and if you for no reason dont manage to pull with table there, take the limo tho spearminths at closing time...

You shall know I have been there three time now and I havent been there for more then 45 min every time.. Its so easy to pull there..

Thx, but was with family most of the time.

I did check out the GoCarts, great adrenaline rush. Ended up overpaying since I didn't buy the 1 hour unlimited wristband. (Wasn't offered this and didn't see it anywhere)

Also went to the Hoover Dam & Grand Canyon West (SkyWalk)
Definitely recommend the Skywalk, it's just awesome.

On the strip, I mainly played BlackJack (ended up losing all my gambling money + earnings) Rule of thumb: quit while you're ahead.

Checked out Fremont Street, which was kool.

Out of all the casinos I saw, I liked the Wynn casino the most.
Didn't go on the Stratosphere rides, but will def check it out next time I'm there. They look amazing.
Was going to the check out La Reve, but everyone ended up wanting to do something else.

Overall, I had a great time and will be going back soon.

Thanks for all the advice.

the first thing you should do is decide where you want to gamble and how much dough you have for gambling. I have found that the further away I stay from Bellagio, Rio and Venetian the better. I usually win at Treasure Island and Mandalay Bay, but everyone is different. as a rule of thumb, the newer the casino the less it will smell like an ashtray. The Hotel at Mandalay and the Sports Book is cool. Before you bet one dollar, GET A PLAYERS CARD. Make sure when you are betting the card has been acknowledged. I usually shoot craps with a pre determined budget, but that could be another 5 paragraphs. I like to finish the night off at 40 Deuce. Shows are shows, but the Deuce is always cool. And take aspirin before you start partying... christ almighty all the headaches and horrible hangovers I have had that had Vegas and second hand smoke written all over them....

I also get all my VIP stuff in advance. Google VIP tickets, It is bad ass when you can go to ghost bar or rain without waiting in a phucking line. It is expensive, but beats the hell out of a 2-3 hour wait when your name is on the list. Plus your friends think you rule when you pull it off and they dont know you got VIP hookup.

on and on and on... i'm babbling at this point. if you are up on the craps table 250% FUCKING STOP! it always happens to me and then I piss away at least 2/3rds of my winnings. Know your start and stop numbers. Bet 6,8 and 9 after the point and only stay on the table for 2-3 rolls max. and then say TAKE ME DOWN. if you don't you are just waiting for a 7 to fuck up your game.

PEACE. HAVE FUN!
