Decided I'd try using Fiverr to help build content, graphics, backlinks etc. for EMD sites I'm developing.

Using only sellers with good ratings..

3 have cancelled on me, waiting until their deadline was there or up to tell me.

1 is now 2 days over-due with no communication from seller..

1 was completed with little gained (SEO service) - at least he delivered.

Is this the norm? I'm not asking for anything extra beyond their offering. I know these are cheap services but seriously.. who can work around this shit.

What other sites are you guys using for services? I use the BST here sometimes, thinking about trying odesk soon.

I've had relatively good luck with Fiverr, you sometimes get a bad one but if you try a few of a similar service you can usually find a good one you can then keep using.

There is nothing wrong with fiverr if you know what you're doing. You don't go to fiverr as the centerpiece of your fucking marketing and design. You go there to get shit like +, likes, tweets, google maps reviews, video testimonials, video uploads, etc.

Yep ya gotta know what to go for. And +1 for the video links that I can't be arsed for, but certainly don't mind spending 5 bucks for shit like edit this BILLBOARD video promo and put your company name or text logo or your photo image in the billboards for $5 - motiondesigner

I tried a couple of gigs that were given good ratings by WFers and even those sucked. Anybody can go on Fiverr and offer some kind of SEO service without knowing what they are doing. However, there is some other stuff on there that is pretty good. Got some cartoons drawn once for use on a website and some of the short voice over talent is pretty good for $5.

I'm a repeat Fiverr customer for comment spam and logo/favicon packages. Plan on using it for socials next.

This is true. Just got 4 videos created yesterday and they are pretty damn good, and for $10, you can't beat it.

I use it for a lot of stuff but not for seo gigs anymore, not to say there aren't any good providers out there, just that maybe I have never found one worth 5$ and my patience.

Go to fiverr and search for "boobs". A REAL chick (no lady boy) will write stuff on her boobs for $5. Best $5 I ever spent because this girl thought that I had another girl after me. She got jealous and I ended up getting laid.

Thank you fiverr.

I didn't expect much from Fiverr.. what pissed me off is the fact that 3 canceled at or after deadline and 1 is MIA .. at least DO the job you said you would.

Sounds like it's best for random crap anyway as everyone mentioned.

Fiverr sucks to those that suck at finding good services.... I dig it.

This

As long as you go into it with low expectations you can't really be disappointed. Some of them are incredibly good value.

In fact I just tried 2 different guys for logos, got 7 designs for $15, and I genuinely can't choose between them, 5 of the 7 are worthy of using. Unreal value for fiverr gigs.

Also great for likes, +1s, retweets, twitter/fb/email accounts, testimonial vids, voiceovers etc.

Just be smart when choosing gigs. Only buy from people with 95%+ ratings, good number of reviews, low TAT, check time of their last activity is less than a week, and don't buy from people with 50+ orders in the queue if you want the deadline met. If the above criteria are met, they're legit sellers

Mind sharing the logo guys? I've tried 2 with no good luck

You get why you pay for mate! It's a cheap place to get some basic things done.
