Within the last month or 2 I've seen an influx in great ideas that are posted by contributing forum members for free. The posters usually don't give you a 75 page tutorial to follow step by step through the process, but most thinking individuals will be able to tell what the basic steps are with the information given. What bothers me is that following the thread I see a neverending number of posts saying things like "stats, revenue?" "proof of revenue?" "verified proof of revenue" etc. Ladies and Gentleman, these are NOT sales threads. They aren't selling you a performing website or domain - they are GIVING you a FREE idea. Stop asking for proof of everything! Secondly, I see a bunch of people bashing the OP and saying things like "this will not work" "your revenue claims are inflated" etc. Who cares??? The fact is that this forum member took the time out of their (likely busy) day to GIVE you an idea for free. Usually they aren't just handing you a fish, they are giving you the pole and telling you what they did and what you can do to replicate their success. Instead of seeing a bunch of enthusiastic people thanking the OP and following through with their own implementations of the idea I see a bunch of negative followups with accusations and insults.
Here's the deal: if somone tells you how they made $2K a month, stop for one second. Think about the idea. Consider the niche. Think about whether you can implement the idea. Think about how scalable the idea is. Think about whether or not you can improve the idea. Then go fuckin' do it. Stop asking questions, stop whining, stop demanding proof of income - take some fucking initiative and think the whole process through yourself and decide whether it's worth your time or not.
The fact is, some bright individual who has some type of limitations that prevent him from fully profiting from his idea might share it in the forum as a $200/mo idea. If you just blow it off and say "I make way more money than that, I have no need for you n00b" then you might pass over an idea that if you had implemented to YOUR full potential and added to and put your own creative twist on might have made you 10K/mo or 100K/mo.
I'm rambling now, but the post can be boiled down to this: lots of WF members have some great ideas, and a lot of them are willing to share them. Instead of being negative or pessimistic consider how YOU could make the idea work and then go put in the hard work to do it. You might be pleasantly surprised with the results.
