For Ron Paul Fans: Thoughts On The Stimulus

Ron paul is right on alot of things..........I can't agree with him on 100% of the things he says , however i'd say I agree with him on a good 90% of things, and that's more than anyone else at the moment.

A company that cannot satisfy consumer needs in the marketplace and that requires a government stimulus to remain competitive is a company that should not be in business.

Quote of the fucking decade.

I wonder what Ron Paul would have to say regarding the decision that the Supreme Court ruled on about Campaign Financing for corporations last Thursday?

I wouldn't hold your breath.

I find Ron needs to speak with more authority in his voice. I find when he argues, like on Fox or CNN, his voice is shakey and he's slow to speak. I'm sure this isn't because of nerves - just the way he talks.

But regardless he needs to be quicker with the comebacks and needs to speak with more authority. This is the only way he'll win over those who aren't very engaged/interested in Ron, or politics in general.

@Surfer5425 do you have a link to what you're talking about?

@FTC-Hater

here is one link that discusses what happened, but if you search "Campaign Finance Supreme Court" you should be able to find many articles about the decision.

Michael B. Keegan: Fighting Back Against a Corporate Court Not a Left/Right Issue

I am surprised to see that not a lot of people have heard of this....

This seems like a very important decision that was made almost without any recognition for the media..hmm I wonder why...

No need to wonder what RP's take on this would be: more money in politics (unlimited now) is never good.

But would he want the government stepping in to prevent a group from spending money in a way they had chosen? I assume Paul's main concern would be whatever it is in the first place that makes it appealing to the companies for them to donate.

The following has absolutely nothing to do with stimulus or campaign finance, but everything to do with Paul...

The House vote for condolences and solidarity with Haiti (HR 1021): 411 for / 1 against

The House vote for resolution in support of Iranian dissidents (and against the ruling government) during last year's "scuffle" (H RES 560): 405 for / 1 against

He'll never be a great orator. But, it's hard not to respect the man.

I love Ron. I have all the respect in the world for him.

But if he wants to have a hope he needs to take some sort of speech class to get him to the level most people are at. Case in point:

Everything he said was so sound, so right but in the end he just doesn't sound convincing and it reflects in the way the polls showed up at the end of the YouTube clip. Only 27% for Ron, which isn't bad, but by all accounts should be way higher if only he commanded more attention to himself while talking and didn't fumble his words so much.

On a side note a bunch of WickedFire guys should go here Ron talk sometime - maybe catch up with him after if possible.

I agree with you. He doesn't connect with the populace on an emotional level.

That said, I hope Paul never moves into the White House. He would be wasted. At most, he would have 4 years to accomplish his agenda. Given the pain involved, the populace would quickly lose faith and hamper him through the midterms.

Realistically, that gives him 18 months. A mere blip in history.

I would much rather he spend his time in the House and/or writing (books, CNN, etc.). That goes further toward educating the populace.

This is what i was meaning to say regarding my last post. I know he is not a fan of government intervention and i was wondering how he would deal with this issue then...

ron paul is a beast. and i mean that in a good way. i also religiously read thomas sowell. go to tsowell.com and click on columns > current columns. great way to get real insight into what is going on with politics/economics without all the liberal BS.
