Hey, Mike here. I'm about to tell you a pretty amazing story. You might not believe me, but I really don't care. By the time you're done reading, you'll know why.
I've been marketing on the Internet since the very beginning, when it was still just all text. Like others, I dropped a lot of money in the early days on $79 domains and hoped for the best, knowing it would pay off.
Well, it did. A few lucky domain grabs in the early days paid off after about 5 years when the Internet started to heat up with the great wave of AOL CDs. (Ah, those were the days...) I had enough money that I soon became bored. That's not good for someone like me.
I decided to move into a local college ghetto area of town, sell my assets, and get serious about making money online. Well, after many months, tons of pizza and beer, I finally had the idea.
I would build a button that, when pressed, would put money into my bank account. Not only that, it would learn each time I pressed it so that it would get better the more I pressed it.
It was so simple yet complex I knew it was going to be a winner. I barricaded myself in the house and got to work coding. A few months later, I had a prototype for what I was calling The Magic Button. There was a field to enter how much money I wanted the button to create and the button itself.
Simpler than posting links on Google!
I remember the first time I pressed it. The screen flashed that it would take 60 days to make $10. What the hell, I thought. It was auto-pilot so what did I have to lose.
To be honest, at this point I kinda gave up on the whole matter and started to get into some other areas (ringtones baby.) I totally forgot about it until I noticed that 2 months after I pressed the button, $10 magically appeared in my bank account.
Well, I knew it wasn't magical. As I traced what the MB had done, I was kinda amazed. It had taken 60 days, but it had done it all on its own. I typed in $10 and hit the button again. This time the time to create $10 was only 21 days. This was getting interesting.
I didn't tinker with the code at this point (or document it AT ALL.) This was probably one of my early mistakes. Things were happening. My big gamble was paying off. By the end of that year, I could type in $500 and it would deliver within 24 hours. I was a happy man.
I opened my house to the uni crowd and had massive parties. I became known as the go-to guy on campus for anything and everything. As you can imagine, my insistence that I "made monies on the Internet" only held up for so long.
Most people thought it was porn or something illegal. A few months in, the attempts to get my secret were getting pretty bold. I remember one night, I had been drinking a little too much, and Theresa came up and said she wanted to see how I "got paid" so well.
I laughed and said, "Show me your boobies, and I'll show you my Magic Button!"
I could tell she thought I was just talking shit, but she obliged in the backyard.
Hmm, I thought. She showed me, so I showed her mine. She was less than excited when I showed her the button in my bedroom.
"That's it?"
"Yep."
"You're bullshitting me."
"Maybe."
"Well, wanna have sex?"
"Sure," I said, and flipped the monitor off, knowing MB was busy at work.
As you might imagine, I started to use MB to help with the ladies - who all wanted to be around me now.
They even started coming at me two at a time to see my magic button!
I have to say it got a little old after a while. By this time, I could type in $10k and it would have it in 12 to 34 hours depending on how many stupid people were on the Internet at the time. (I did a study once - half ass - to see if my conversion rates went down when there were monster truck shows all happening at the same time...)
Well, long story short, let me get to why I'm selling an eBook for the MB for only $7/copy...
I had it making well over $30k/day (Sorry, Marcus...) when it stopped working. Actually, you guys might find it a little amusing. The last time I typed in $50k for the amount and hit the button, I got this message back in 42 point RED LETTERS.
"So... when you gonna let me tap that?"
Now, that's the only answer I get no matter the amount I put in the box. Now, I could probably tinker with it myself and get it working again, but I'm giving you a chance to get in on this for only $7...
================================
Ok, there's no eBook or Magic Button (that I'm gonna talk about anyway...) But ask yourself this - should you be buying content from me?
Fuck yeah, you should.
