Thought I'd post this in case someone else finds it useful...

If you design your own landing pages, you might want to check out freecsstemplates.org. They've got some decent pre-made templates you can use to throw together quick LPs and tweak for whatever purpose. I've used their stuff in a time pinch to test offers. A lot of their templates are a blog format, which is nice if you don't want to set up wordpress on yet another site just for a static flog.

Note: you don't need to know css to use the templates, but it helps if you're doing more than basic mods. They can also be a good learning tool for css tricks.

If your not worried about legitimacy you can get GB's of good templates on alot of torrent trackers.

good thread thanks for those. which site would you recommend for a newer LP designer. I have done a bunch of paid search but always paid someone to do my stuff and used redirects, I would like to start learning this on my own.

I know it's not a fun answer, but one of the best ways to learn web dev is by digging through the source code of sites/templates you like. Also print up some cheat sheets for reference. w3schools is a good place to start:

html/xhtml: HTML 4.01 / XHTML 1.0 Reference
css: CSS Reference

"CSS: The Missing Manual" by David McFarland is a good read if you want to kill a tree in the learning process. Very easy to read w/code examples.
