Hi All,

I wanting to start a local Free Dating Site similar to plentyoffish on my local community.

What are the best Dating Scripts out there?

Anyone, have Dating Site on their portfolio? Care to share the Experience in Promoting this kinda of websites?

I've programmed two of them from scratch for clients, and neither of the clients did anything with them. Both are now offline. Before you invest any time or money into programming, be sure you have a rock solid plan for making money (assuming that is your goal). That was the downfall to both of my client's plans - neither had a plan or a budget to get their site to where they wanted it to be.

The dating industry isn't as bad as its been cracked up to be. The key for you is getting the initial memberbase; most importantly women. If you can get 50 to 100 local women to post profiles you should be good to go. I would think about how to compliment Myspace rather than compete with it.

I totally agree with that!

Use for example MySpace friend requester software and submit only requests to women. 50-100 women sign ups with your newly dating site can be done in literally one day this way!! Maybe you gave me here as well an idea :D, but I am more worried about hosting (you need a huge server in the long run to host all those profiles!), spam, etc.

The same for getting members for a new forum site, using MySpace (friend requests, bulletins) as a promotion tool can build your member list very quick! :)

I think you're dreaming if you think you'll get that many signups in one day on your new dating site. Call me a pessimist. You need to do something really unique to set your dating site apart from everyone else's. PlentyofFish already exists and has millions of profiles - why would someone use your's instead? When you figure that out, THEN track down a script to use.

Are you familiar with MySpace?

For example - 50 CPA dating leads per day through MySpace can be done easily if you use the right tools, especially when your offer is about FREE dating!

You are missing my point. Why would someone use YOUR new site when they already have MySpace or PlentyofFish or whatever.

Again, are you familiar with MySpace (as a marketing tool)? :)

I know from my own experience and from others that getting dating leads through MySpace is not hard at all. That shows that people ARE interested in other dating sites as well!!

For the same reasons that anyone would use your blog when there are a million other blogs out there, or for the same reasons anyone would use this forum when there are many other forums out there.

You are over thinking it. What Michel is talking about is people spamming myspace are able to get that many signups to dating sites a day, and get paid for it. In my experience, believing you need a brilliant idea for something to work is a big mistake. There are a lot of variables in play with internet marketing; the stuff that works is often very, very simple.

I don't spam Myspace, but I do have exposure to the dating industry. Myspace and PlentyofFish are hardly replacements for online dating dates. People going on dating sites are looking for something specific.

10 million other members? So what if none of them a good matches. I have browsed local listings for some of the bigger dating sites like yahoo personals and plentyoffish. I can't say I was interested in anyone I saw. I know I'm not the only person who would fall in that category.

So... what pearz needs to do is find some attractive local guys & ladies and get them to create a profile. How he gets them to do it doesn't matter, it needs to be done. Then, he can start promoting the site through myspace, may be clubs & bars, and bam, he has a successful free local dating site. I don't know about other variables here including how big the population is of this area and what kind of free competition is already out there. Those are probably your biggest revenue limitations.. but, if you can make it work in one place you can replicate it for everywhere.

I don't really know about starting a dating profiles site, but I have a dating "review" affiliate type site. It even has a link from the front page of Plenty Of Fish. www.dating-services.net

It was the first site I ever created with the intent to make money (back in 2002 or something), and I have to say it's the HARDEST site I've ever found to make successful. In fact, it's still not successful and I haven't touched it in the last year. The competition is so fierce from all angles. Unless you have a really unique approach, in my experience there're much easier ways to make money than with dating.

Andrew,

I think there are other ways as well then only SPAMMING MySpace in order
to get dating leads. :)

Anyway, MySpace doesn't like any form of advertising through their profiles. But what is advertising?? I read several articles online in well known biz magazines, newspapers about companies being succesful using MySpace. Those companies are accepted in general using MySpace as a marketing tool & nobody is complaining about them! In the meantime, those companies also promoting their business >> and linking to other sites.

I think you can promote for example a Free dating site through MySpace without too obvious advertising or spamming by using real content (not making up things!), thinking smart (where to put links within content, text to be used for links, etc.) and still receiving enough leads per day to make it interesting...

Not for the US markets..... It's for the up and coming the next POWER HOUSE COUNTRY!!! C***A !!!

If you mean China, for sure it has BIG potential but it's not going to be easy: language, government rules, not sure if there will be enough ads already available (Adsense), etc.

For sure, it's very interesting how this market will develop over time... :)
