This is actually depressing though when you consider the "quality" of the herb these people were receiving over the years. If we'd have given them actual good herb they wouldn't have to smoke so much to get medicated, it would be healthier etc.

I'm sure the free joints the dispensaries out here distribute (usually made from trimmings/shake and usually tastes like shit and provides very little "buzz", often given to first time visitors of the club or as bonus freebies) are still lightyears ahead of that crap in terms of potency.

Everything here outside of late fall is indoor grown. Around Oct+ you get some outdoor stuff. The dispensaries seem to get it from CA, and it's almost always indoor stuff as well. Definitely not bad but not what it could be.
Also I get better stuff for a little cheaper from someone I initially met on the street than I did at dispensaries. But I've only been to a couple dispensaries.
I used to grow it when I first got my card, but the law only allows you to grow 15 plants, and indoors with 15 plants it's really slow. I had to let my girls go 6 months before they were of any size. I used a vertical scrog hybrid model with 2 metal hallides and a hps in the center.
At the end of the day even with 1000w lights it's not comparable to the sunlight. It can be great and beautiful, but not at all what we used to grow under direct southern CA sunlight, or what comes around every fall.
I was thinking here, since you can have 15 plants with a card, I could do a hike with a gps, and throw a few here, few there, so long as I never possess more than 15 at any 1 time. I was also thinking about using pots and hanging them over a cliff, in a tree, or off a log in desolate areas. I have tons of grow bags instead of pots left over, and am planning on buying a kayak which would open new territory.
Surprised this isn't more widespread. I'd never heard of this before and you'd think it wouldn't take 20 year for this to be made into a pretty big story.

Maybe just a tiny bit hypocritical to have weed patients given weed from the FEDERAL government, when at the same time weed is illegal at a FEDERAL level.
Yes weed is legalized state by state but the DEA still gets large scale growers even if they are permitted at a state level, because federally it's illegal.
