I got on the homepage of Digg today thanks to Digg Boss. I used my points to get 30 diggs, but so far only 16 were used. I had a site that the community liked and all it took was the initial boost from Digg Boss to get noticed.

Digg - Google Hacking Made Easy!

1. 15,000 uniques (so far). I'm still getting a huge amount of traffic as I refresh my stats, even though I'm on the third page now.

2. A big fat PR8 link from digg.

3. A lot of people are blogging about my site + spam sites that mirror Digg are recording it= mega backlinks. I really wish I knew SEO well so I could take advantage of this. If anyone can give me some advice and some keywords to try to rank for that would be awesome.

4. Only made $5 in Adsense. Maybe it hasn't updated everything yet. 20,369 impressions, 48 clicks, .24 ctr. That's digg traffic for ya. I think I may get banned from adsense. I just slapped the ads on my site yesterday and never received an email back from them if my site meets their terms. After all that traffic I know they will investigate my account and possibly call it a warez site. It sucks that I will probably have to wait till payment time to find out if I'm banned or not.

5. Surprisingly I used only a few gbs of bandwidth and my server held up well. It's a shared host for proxies with a quad core and 8gb of memory. My site got on the front page when proxy traffic is starting to die down (right after school) so I got most of the server to myself.

All in all, Digg is great. Sure the traffic is ad blind, but the backlinks from random other sites and the viral exposure is awesome. I can't wait to try this with some other sites that are also targeted towards the tech/digg community. Best of all, I didn't spend a DIME.

You are just putting a big bullseye on your site now. Tons of people read WickedFire, and Digg will soon find out and ban you when they see a ton of referrers coming from this thread. Then all those precious backlinks will be gone. :error:

Digg can blow me. if they stumbled upon this post, if they decided to ban me, and even if they deleted my article, all I would lose is one PR 8 backlink. I won't lose all of my links from random forums and blogs people decide to post my site on. It's really amazing how your site spreads. Just looking at my stats I can see that someone submitted my site to Reddit and it made the front page. If my account gets banned, so what. I'll just make a new one.

Where are you? China?

No, but China certainly is a wonderland that I'm looking forward to visiting again.

I feel inspired by the fact that people here seem to be proud of the work they do for $5 in Adsense. I'd offer them a job if I had one to offer... So long as they're still happy making only $5.

Fuck you. I ended up with $20 yesterday with .24 CTR. If I a put a little bit more time into my site and got at least 5% CTR (which is still shit) I can be making $40+ a day passively. I'm stilling getting a lot of traffic. I got 6,000 uniques today so far just from blog and forum posts. I never really made the site for the big bucks, although I could probably sell it right now for $1,000+. I saw a similar site to mine sell for $700 a few months ago with barely any traffic and zero revenue.

You misinterpreted my enthusiasm. I couldn't careless about the pocket change from adsense. It was just an experience for me on how to manipulate and social bookmarking.

I'd like someone with your positive energy to work for me for $5 per day, too.

It is not the five dollar, it is the potential link love and subscribers that makes digg front page a big deal.

that PR8 link won't help you much, so don't worry about it.

i used to play digg another way. Since digg has a lot of authority, it is easy to rank a digg page for keyword that doesn't have much competition . I just submit a link to my landing page with my keyword in the title and start build a few link to that digg page. Few day later it rank #1 in google. However it doesn't work no more cause digg ban all my site..

it is not hard to make digg front page. If you have time, keep checking on reddit/del.icio.us's front page story to see if that story got on digg yet. if it didn't make digg, steal stuff from that story, post it on ur blog and submit it to digg.

or just recycle old story, merge 5 - 6 similar pic/video that made front page in one post, give it a new title like "5 best skating video i ever seen" and submit it.

Before you worry about SEO, worry about monetizing that traffic!

How about a nice banner below that search box? Optimize that shit.

I think I might sellout some banner space on DP. I don't really want to put any ads on the frontpage though.

Interesting site... i haven't see anything else like this.

Like others have mentioned, the true value of getting to the front pg of Digg is the ton of back-links you'll receive.
