fuck firefox

Only things I miss from Firefox:
1. Livehttpheaders. Chrome web dev network panel is not the same
2. ctrl + alt + del > kill process > firefox = session saved 100% of the time. Wih Chrome, you only have 50/50 chance of session being saved after a crash
3. I am still paranoid that Google indexes stuff you browse from chrome, but maybe that is unjustified

Chrome is absolutely killing it. Props to the programmers behind it. I still can't believe Google came in the landscape with no prior experience in browsers and killed the 2 giants. IE and FF better wake the fuck up (and fast) because they're about to be wiped off the map.

I like to leave little messages, since they are publicly viewable and whatnot:

Rarely crashes for me, if it does it from some shitty Flash file. I completely rely on Group Tabs to organize my work flow, would die and perish without it.

If you want bleeding edge check out chrome's Canary

Not for the faint of heart
Canary is designed for developers and early adopters, and can sometimes break down completely.
Nightly updates
Canary changes almost every day.
Side-by-side install
Run Canary and Chrome Stable at the same time.

Yeah i flicked over to chrome a few weeks ago, its actually better than I thought it would be. I mean as much as I love FF it was starting to suck big time so I thought it was time for a change.

Do they have anything for chrome like downloadhelper? Last I checked, there wasn't any real alternative, and it's the only thing keeping me from switching all the way over.

+1

That and an all in one sidebar, which chrome is also missing. There's a thread three years old on google forums asking for it. Nothing yet. :/

been a while since I had to jack any hidden videos on Amazon. Check out "download master" that should do the trick

I'm still a Firefox fan. I think the extensions are better and Firefox is much less restrictive than Chrome in terms of letting extensions into the main user interface.

Example: Firefox lets you have a proper integrated Roboform toolbar, with Chrome you only get a crappy wee button and a toolbar that hovers below the main window.

Chrome is definitely faster, but I still feel much more in control with Firefox.

Multiple Firefox profiles also very useful, you can have a Firefox setup with only the most minimal addons if you like.

It's been a bad day. Not only did firefox crash a few times my whole apartment crashed when I switched on several high energy consumption appliances at the same time (electricity being sort of rationed through the fuse box here in Italy) this evening. Fuck Italian fuseboxes too.

Sounds like Spain. Most places, brand new builds, have low amperage breakers installed in the fuse boxes. Run more than one or two appliances at the same time and the power blows. It's easy to fix though. Just have someone stick in a breaker with double the amperage and you're set.

Back to the original topic. Chrome isn't without its issues. It crashes quite a lot because of Flash. It also doesn't render type as well as Firefox, IE9+ or Safari. It's "smooth" scrolling isn't very smooth at all. It's version of Firebug sucks ass compared to the Firefox version. So while I use Chrome 90% of the time, I do use FF for dev work. I have every major browser installed on my machine, FF, Chome, IE, Opera and Safari, for testing purposes though.
