I got a basic business setup with Fasthosts a few weeks ago - had a site I needed kept a long way from our other stuff.

Went for them just because they were the first guys who came up that I'd heard of and the project didn't justify endless research into the best hosting option. (normally use highend solutions).

Anyway, their server speed is slow as fuck, even for shared hosting and worst still the sites probably down for 45mins to an hour a day.

We've got ping'a'ma jigs running etc... I've sent them two weeks worth of stats but they could careless.

Just wondering if other people have had this experience.
 


Nope, haven't had that experience. I just searched around for the best hosts and made sure I picked a reliable one. Hostgator, Bluehost, dreamhost all seem to get pretty good reviews.

I personally use Hostgator and love it.
 
Read a lot of bad things about these guys on Webhostingtalk. Wouldn't touch them a pole bar.
report your findings on WHT and I bet they will quick to act. Bad publicity.
 
I laso used Fasthost once , its very bad hosting so leaved it , now i am using Justhost , its working very fast for me . I have hosted almost 50 + sites and all are working well on a single shared hosting .
 
Fasthosts was purchased by Layered Tech a while ago, unfortunately all the best service peeps and hardware went to LT, which does provide decent servers. We have a few servers at LT, but now they are moving datacenters so we are going to Colo in Vegas. I would recommend Layered Tech ( after they move ), RackSpace or VegasNap.
