I already rank top 3 for this keyword. But the two word domain has been parked with no income I am sure. So I offered 1K out of my generosity. And that is what he asked.. Is that 1.7 Million? I can't even count the 0's...

It is not worth even 170K or 17 K for that matter from any Angle. And noone would even offer 1K as I did. I am ranking with a Non-Keyword totally unrelated domain. But I thought Will redirect this keyword too... well... Maybe someone will pay him 1.7 Million and rank below me..
 


Makes me laugh how dumb people are with prices of domains. The name has certain value but the website behind it is what really counts. I can still find domains that'll do, so why bother with high priced ones?
 
There are some crazy stories, people must be out of their minds nowadays. Even if it was the rarest domain and I was a multi billionaire, I still wouldn't pay 17mil for it.
 
I know some domainers who want to sell crappy web2.0 kind of names for a few hundred bucks.. which you can easily generate at dotomator.. when I asked why they would want to hog such domains and who would want they buy them, they say that those kind of names are great for small business companies .. what
 
I've ran into idiots like this. The guy probably hogged a 100 domains like this. Now he only needs one bigger idiot to make it pay off. I suggest you lower your bid to $500 and say that if he doesn't accept within 3 days - it will be lowered to $250. Could you please fuck with him and post the communications here for our lowly entertainment? :)

P.S. $1.7m request is ridiculously insane.
P.P.S. He probably got the domain for around $10.
 
I got similar experience as well but the asking price isn't as ridiculous as yours. I offer a 2word.com domain $500 but he got back to me with a counter offer of $300k. Deleted the email straight away and cursing him at the back LOL
 
Given how high he is from his domain, no fucking way will he accept a lower offer. I wonder if domains are snorted, smoked or injected.....
 
I just looked yesterday for some keywords of non-compete niche, cheap traffic one.... non branded keywords, just good volume for submits or so.... probably everything with 10000 exact / month already taken by some company and they want crazy money for it.... for now it just sits as parked ads, however on some it seems they run spam autoblogs or so.... why leave sites sits there...and by whois nobody bought them for a long time.... WTF ???!!!!
 
I hear you, I have gotten some BS it irritates the hell out of me.

BUT, I have 2 that I want that they are asking 8 k, so at that point, you ask yourself if you could make up the 8 k or whatever the price they are asking, of course counter with 4 or so.

Irritating, a couple that I want are the same way, no income just some tool somewhere, but the tool is probably smarter then I think...

It's 1.7 mil, not 17 mil. That being said, you wouldn't pay 1.7 mil for, say, casino.com, poker.com, or sex.com if you were a billionaire?

I guess we'll not have to worry about that last part of the equation (you becoming a billionaire) because you're business sense is seriously lacking.
 
Most of these domain sellers are retarded.... Just because you buy a half decent domain and pay to keep it registered to you over the last 5 years, doesn't mean I would buy it for all the registration cost you payed+a profit for you.... honestly... FUCK YOU... im too creative to be paying on overpriced crap.

The problem is it is two word domain. For one of the words, I would pay, maybe a Million. The second word, maybe 10 Million. (ie If I could raise that much. Don't have to be a Billionaire for that)

But combine the two words, and it is just another EMD.. I would go all the way upto 10 K considering that I am in this Niche... But still.. WIll try to negotiate on the .org and .net both of which are parked.

I own the reverse.org ie the keyword2keyword1.org
 
I hear you... some assclown bought my wife's name .com (she has a really unusual name) 4 years ago and keep renewing it. Its not worth more than $50 a most so we offered $100. He came back with $50,000.

I've wasted so much time with moron's like this. Never had someone ask for $1.7 million, but lots of domainers asking for 5 figures for a 3 figure value domain.

It always pisses me off so much, and I don't know why, other than I can't comprehend their strategy. Does anyone ever actually pay those ridiculous numbers?
