One of my Employees for one of my offline business was heading to work this morning and was crossing a big intersection in Vancouver when she was hit by a car. It was raining so none of the other cars at the intersection bothered to get out and help her. Just drove off and left her in the middle of the road when the light went green. Naturally the driver that hit her did nto bother to stop either. There was an older asian man behind her who apparently did not speak english. Though he was nice enough to pick up and return her umbrela so she could stay dry in the middle of the street before walking away. Had to crawl off the street and call 911 herself.

Fucken Vancouver drivers piss me off. You would people would stop if they see someone get hit or lying in the middle of the road in Canada. I know I stop when I see accidents.

Fucken Pisses me off!!!

I didn't realize how easy it can be to be so reckless and hit someone until I almost saw someone get hit on my lunch break the other day. A pedestrian had just started walking across the cross walk at a small intersection and a car didn't even slow down trying to round the corner even though there light was red. Definitely has mad me slow down when I drive. I personally wouldn't be able to handle myself knowing I killed someone just to get somewhere an extra minute or two early.

Maks you wonder how people are so disconnected these days.

hope your employee is okay.

I got hit crossing an intersection about three years ago. I didn't end up getting dragged by the car or anything, but after I got off of this chick's hood, she just drove off. I had a nice bruise on the side of my leg/ass.

Did you get her license plate? A lot of drivers don't stop because they're uninsured. They should go to jail and be banned from driving for life.

Careless driving makes me absolutely furious. If, and if only, drivers think they are also pedestrians too at certain times.

Little update... She was released from the hospital with a ton of bruises. Nothing Broken thankfully but sustained a concussion.

She also made news on the morning traffic report as the fire and police cars slowed down the morning rush hour.

But there is hope. I was driving down the bad area of Cordova Street ( for those that know Vancouver ) And saw a guy in a wheelchair all of a sudden fall into the gutter and could not get it. It was in torrential rain and it looked like he was drowning (I am sure most of you guys would find it funny if you saw it ). For the record I did not stop only because there were 2 other cars that were ahead of me that stopped.

No, I wouldn't help someone hit by a car or generally injured. I'd call 911 and get them help, but that's it. If you help them and then as a result of you helping them they're injured further you're liable (in most parts of the US). It's really easy to cause an injury to get extremely worse simply by moving someone that's been in an accident like that.

I used to ride a motorcycle when I lived in Vancouver, drivers there are pretty bad, however nothing in comparison to what I live through here in Costa Rica on a day to day basis.

Possible fix to traffic problems:

Step 1. Implement GPS with engine governor

Step 2. Implement self drive mode for everyone.

If that intersection has cameras you can bet your ass that the cops will be all over that.

yeah in the states I would do the same. Up here you are protected. Only if you do something that makes them worse and you somehow gain by making them worse.

And say lifeguards are required by law to stop at the scene of an accident. They could go after you for something like that but most likely not.

I will tell you how to improve them in Vancouver.

1. Make them take the tests in English. How can you understand the rules of country if you can't speak the language. I think they have the test in 20 something different languages and have translators available for the actual driving test.

Thats my rant.
