If you've been on reddit today you've probably seen all the shit about Wet Seal. They're closing the doors on 25% of their stores, and some locations have posted signs in the window bitching about how the employees were all screwed over. The signs are almost identical in every store though. I call it a genius marketing campaign. No publicity is bad publicity, right?

Exposing the Wet Seal Publicity Stunt

I'm not so sure man. The stock is literally at 6 cents a share right now.

They're going to go bankrupt. I'm looking at their balance sheet right now and as of last month they're negative 10 million in net assets. That is really bad.

Oh man. With numbers that bad their best bet would be to close some stores. I'd say 25% maybe. Employees won't be happy.

Or someone/group took the initiative and emailed store managers with a ready-to-go protest sign making it simpler for more to participate. Do you think the public would support a company with their patronage if they're doing that to staff?
