I am doing SEO on a local site that has been up for 10 years, has links, but hard to rank for the term "electrician erie" .... I just noticed this exact match domain is about to expire.... is this something I could purchase and send a link over to the existing site and substancially help it?

Any other ideas how I could use this exact match domain for my clients site?

Thanks in advance.

It has already expired and his pending renewal or deletion. I have a feeling the owner will not renew.

Ok well, i would swoop in if you can. Just make sure you dont let the owner know you are interested whilst he still has control over it. I mean, make sure you can definately get it before you try. Let me know what happens!

First step would have been to not out your own keywords on a domain you don't want anyone else to buy...

BUT, yes, if it's available, buy it. Build a small content site on it, and link to your client's main site. Throw a lead gen form on there too if it's getting traffic

Thanks man.

I was looking forward to your response. Been reading the blog and it's great.
