Just curious where do you guys find most of your images? Similarly, what sites would you say are best for learning to create images from scratch using PS.

I'll chuck out my website Integrated Exercise Physiology Home - you'll notice all the photos are stolen off google images :p

Has anyone asked for publisher authority to use their pictures? What kind of deal was struck?

Thanks.

OP, can you not take images from Google? It's not a good idea unless you perform an advanced search and find pictures labeled for 're-use'. The odds of you actually getting caught are slim but why risk it? If you are unlucky enough, you'll realise it isn't worth it.

One of the biggest image sites, 'Getty Images' has some of the most attractive and popular images out there. Their collection is so vast you'll invariably find the images during one of your google searches.

Anyway, getty images is anal about their images stolen and they LOVE to take legal action against people such as yourself.

You don't need to search too far on the internet to hear the horror stories. They usually ask for a one time payment in the region of $2000 as a settlement.

That sxc site isn't great but its better than nothing. If you're really cocnerned about quality you can join a stock image site though I doubt the ROI is worth it.

If your internet connection is fast enough, load up a 1080p HD youtube video and take stills from that video. You'll get some decent photos that way.

I've used Interactimage to create from text. Otherwise I just go to photobucket--very basic stuff but you know you won't be sued. Of course I'm just a beginner.

Lolz I changed my site URL, I'll be 301'ing that link to a new one. Changed it to include the key word im targeting.

Would anyone be interested if I made a journal about creating my professional site? Bit different than the "i want to make monies online" going on

Thanks for all the information btw, especially SEOfrog *gribbit*

No worries mate, you're welcome and yes a journal would be great. If anything, it'll help you stay focused and motivated plus you'll get great ideas from everyone participating.
