Hi guys! I'm Jen and I'm very new to the Wicked Fire Forum. I'm wondering how many women are members that are married or getting married??? I've been planning my wedding since August and the "big" day has almost arrived! June 9th I will become a Fluker. Yes, Fluker, will be my new last name! Ok...bring on the jokes, let's here what you got!! The truth is though, I could care less what my new name will be, I'm just happy to be marrying a great guy who is smart, funny, loving, and is as goofy as I am! So for anyone who has gone through a wedding before, do you have any advice?? I know it will be a crazy day but I really want to focus on what's important! GETTING BUZZED on my parents dime. Haha...yeah right, I'm kidding. Anyhow, if you don't have any advice a funny story would be cool too!

Congratulations! You look like a nice catch ;)

(You aren't one of the crazy brides-to-be, are you?)

Remember!

Got married 8 yrs ago and I was scared shitless no lie. I actually thought about hauling ass 5 minutes before it started. Now that its all said and done glad I made the decision to stay. She had a job interview today, She has not worked for 6 yrs she stayed home with the youngins. Now she will be out and about prolly leave my ass. You can quote me on this. If I ever marry again it will be for Capital Gain only! haha..

Marriage is awesome with the right person for sure. So good luck to you and may yall grow old and grey together!! Kids are great too so if you are just starting out. You have alot of great memories ahead of you

Holy shit, I will yank those immediately...i was dumb and fucked up when i did those, is there any way to get rid of them so i don't get screwed? I really don't want to start any shit on here, i just was too green to realize what i was doing and i have read the rules since!!!

Congrats!

I have been married for a little over 6 years now... Enjoy your wedding - time flies after that! :)

Haha, strange first post. I get the "someone at work told me to post here and I had no clue what to say" vibe. In any case, welcome to the boards neighbor.

Steal me the top of the wedding cake, and all will be forgiven.

fluker eh? your marriage must be a fluke then!!!!

j/k j/k j/k!! :D

anyways congrats :)

MikeKelly -> Those post were made so long ago, you're fine. I don't think we had even established the rules (current version) at that time. No worries.

Jen Webster - Congrats! It'll be a fun ride! I've been married for about 6 years now and have enjoyed most of it (NOTHING in life is perfect). You'll have your bumps along the way, but if you love each other and respect each other, you'll get through it.

That's it for the advice...Funny story, hmmm....Well, this isn't really that funny, but it stands out.

My wife and I were married on September 15th, 2001. Yes, 4 days after the towers went down. We were amazed at how often we got the comment "Wow, you're getting married right after the fall of the WTC, you'll never forget this"

No shit? So, if the towers had not come down, we would forget our own wedding? Morons.

Also, our reception was in the ballroom at an airport. Yep, it was both nice and strange. No planes were landing or taking off, and the place was dead.

Now, when we look back, we don't think about the towers. We talk about the guests, how happy that day was, how nice the weather was, and other good memories. I'm not sure that we ever mention the WTC in conjunction with our wedding. It's not a memory that really fits in with how happy our special day was.

Congrats, good luck and welcome to WickedFire! ..... think you found the only way to create your own intro thread and not get flamed! :D
