So it's my GFs winter break and she had a flight to go back to Korea... but it was cancelled to do snow in Boston.

The next flight she can get on is not til after Christmas (the 29th)

She really wants to go home, and to be honest.. I need a break from her.

Any tips? Any way I could possibly get her a flight?

The problem is all the planes going to Korea are sold out (from Cali... not the flights from Boston to the west coast)

Arrange to have her flown out from a different airport.

Getting flight from nearby airport is not really an option.. cause the problem is the planes going directly to Korea are all sold out (whether is be NYC or Cali)

holidays are rough man, you might be able to get a connecting flight for her from like japan, korean air is prolly booked solid but she might be able to get on standby from nyc. just get on the acela at south station, its like 3-4 hours to ny

Which airline is she flying on? Did the departure time of her scheduled flight already pass or is it still coming up? Are flights from Boston departing at all (to anywhere) ? If not, when are they planning to reopen the airport?

Would she be able to get to NYC - either to JFK or Newark by ground?

Was her ticket refundable or not? In other words, if there is no way to get her a flight on the same airline, would she be willing to get a flight on a different one?

I actually have quite a bit of experience with this stuff, so might be able to help with routing suggestions. Just checked availability and while tomorrow is basically sold out, there are a few options on the 24th from JFK . Might also be a few from LAX and Chicago on the 23rd and 24th - as long as she can get a connecting flight to there.

where do u see this availability?

24th:
Korean Air, flight 82 from JFK
Korean Air flight 38 from ORD
Korean Air flight 12 from LAX
Asiana 213 from SFO

Each of them has about 3-4 seats. There are more options if she is willing to connect twice - once in US, and once in China - flights to China seem to have much more availability . I pulled this info up using ExpertFlyer.

Airfreight! Put her in a wooden crate and she'll be home in no time, it's a bit cold in cargo so make sure she packs her thermals.

If you need a break take one and leave her in front of a web cam with her family... Seems crazy that they offer no alternatives.
