I think there are some people who like -OR- use Godaddy, they will be happy to get advantage of $1 domains.

Ill spend the extra money and go with namecheap and get whois guard with it

Ordering a fucking domain name over the phone? Wow.

Reminds me of when the only way to pay off my US dollar visa was over the phone. It gets old fast when you're hitting your limit every other day.

Seriously this promotion is retarded.

op thanks for the codes. But I just can't deal with Godaddy. Talk about whois guard rape when you renew with those bitches!

Live and learn.

I've had all my domains at Godaddy for 5 years now and never had a problem with them. I mean, I know others provide a bit more, but I hate to change everything over to another provider, as that would be a huge PITA.

I gave them a call to see what how it was going to be and register a name I was going to anyways. Believe it or not, they didn't try to sell anything to me. The guy basically did what I would do online. I picked the reg length and he has me if I wanted privacy and that was it. Charged my CC on file and we were done. Super easy and done in about 3 minutes.

I think it's a trap. From what I recall, there was a big deal some time about about registrars interfering with domain transfers and it ended up being required by ICANN that the registrar has to allow the same method of transfer as they used for registration, i.e. if you registered it online then you must be able to transfer online without phone calls or faxes or other tricks to interfere with or delay the transfer.

But then, I'm sort of paranoid, especially when it comes to scum bag scammers like GoDaddy.
