Godaddy : Domain Renewal $21.67, seriously?

Use a coupon, there are always 30% discount coupons floating around and you might be able to find one which lets you renew domains at the wholesale cost (the amount Verisign receives for each domain registration or renewal) + some pocket change.

Don't know how many domains you own but as a general rule, I'd advise against waiting until the last minute because if you do that, you have to settle with whatever coupon you can find at that point. Whenever you come across a decent renewal coupon, renew a batch of domains and you'll see that it adds up.

By using a coupon that lets you renew domains at $8 instead of $11 for a batch of 200 domains, you end up saving $600. Not a fortune but still, definitely worth the 2-3 minutes it takes to find the coupon.

Use a coupon...

No shit. Anyone that uses GoDaddy should know this. Up until recently there were plenty of $7.49 (+ ICANN fee) renewal coupons floating around but they are almost impossible to come by right now. There are still a few $7.95 renewals around (try cjc795dom for example). There has been a 99 cent coupon for new registrations for the last 5 months or so up to 10k new domains each month and then the coupon stops working. There are several $4.95 new reg coupons up 5 domains per person about right now though (try 495geek for example).

Also, if you have a large number of domains with GoDaddy they assign you an account exec that will handle your renewals for you usually giving close to as good a deals on renewals (mine renews my domains at $8.67 total for example). It's not quite as good a deal as when I do the footwork myself to find a coupon, but it's a time saver to just have him take care of the monthly renewals.

What nonsense is that exactly? All I hear is how bad GoDaddy is and yet they consistently have top notch customer support and the lowest prices.

How low are the prices? I pay ~$9.50 at namecheap and a little less at internet.bs.

I quit using them 10 years ago because the check out process is (or at least was) a pain in the ass and their interface sucks(ed) balls. I agree support was decent, but only after you said no 3 times to whatever up sell they were pushing that week.

Maybe they are better now. Some how I doubt that.

1. Its ugly and takes 20 clicks to buy/renew a domain name
2. They keep on upselling you dumb shit that only Noobs need
3. They supported SOPA
4. That chick they hired is not hot (and not showing tits)
5. their expensive compared to namecheap or Internet.bs
6. Their interface is confusing as FUCK

Godaddy's interface sucks and I hate using it but I don't know why I still have so many domains with them (much less than with namecheap tho)

Namecheap > GoDaddy. When it comes to domains.

If you own over 50+ domains, you can apply for a discount code that lasts for ever on Namecheap. its "GoldDeal". I forget the % but its like 10-20% or something. All you have to do is go into the Live Chat or email them and say you have over 50 domains and they will enable the code on your account.
