GoDaddy No Longer Supports SOPA. LOL.

Good shit, wonder who got them to support it in the first place.

Especially someone like Kutcher supporting it means a lot because then the average guy doesn't have to think and can just oppose the bill based on public opinion.

This is proof that the market works. No one was coerced. The government didn't get involved on behalf of consumers.

Individual actors took a stand and withdrew their financial support for a corporation, and that corporation's leadership buckled.

This is nice but there is no reason to single out godaddy. People should also voice their displeasure with or threaten to boycott Kutcher's employer CBS, ESPN, Time Warner, the politicians, and the many other supporters.

I can't understand the thinking behind godaddy to even want to ever back this bill. It just shows how inept they really are at the top, if this passes domain sales would start dropping hurting their future growth..

From Techcrunch:

[GoDaddy CEO] Adelman couldn’t commit to changing its position on the record in Congress when asked about that, but said “I’ll take that back to our legislative guys, but I agree that’s an important step.” But when pressed, he said “We’re going to step back and let others take leadership roles.” He felt that the public statement removing their support would be sufficient for now, though further steps would be considered.
So they still support it, but lie to you and tell you they don't.

I moved 20 domains today. I've been wanting to for years and been scared of SERP drops. Now I don't care. Afterall, as Sam Adams said:

"If ye love wealth greater than liberty, the tranquility of servitude greater than the animating contest for freedom, go home from us in peace. We seek not your counsel, nor your arms. Crouch down and lick the hand that feeds you; and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen."
