yeah, I am running it for a large site I have. Seems to run fast. Also, I signed up for $5 a month to try it out. If you can still get it for $5 I wouldn't think twice.

It runs great until somebody complains about spam for no reason and your domain/hosting gets taken down and you have to pay $199 to get it back up :D

^^ Exactly, STAY THE FUCK AWAY FROM GODADDY! No one thinks it can happen to them, oh but it can.

And why would this happen? What is the difference from GoDaddy's Grid Hosting any other shared hosting account?

Or, are you just saying GoDaddy in general?

He's specifically referring to GoDaddys reps with domains. If you get complaints they'll basically extort you to take care of them (give them a couple hundred bucks or forfeit your domain name).

There fucking shady in general.

There's no doubt in my mind that they would do the same thing with your web hosting. Why take the chance?

I have all of my domains with GoDaddy and have for over 7 years and haven't had one problem (although I have only been hosting sites for 3-4 years. Where do you recommend setting up hosting and keeping your domains?

Domains, Namecheap. Moniker I also hear is good. They don't fuck around with you either.

There's a billion places to host, what are you looking for? Shared, VPS, Dedi?

Actually just went and looked at the Grid service, it's a fucking joke. Pretty much pick anywhere else would be better (except maybe 1&1).

Well, Right now I have a couple shared hosting plans. I was asking because I am going to be switching to a dedicated in the next 30-60 days.

So you think I should actually transfer my domains from GoDaddy? I guess I could transfer some of the big ones that I use. I can't transfer all however (700+).

As for the hosting, what do you recommend for dedicated?

Right well any domain you actaully would care if you lost or had to pay $200 to get back I would move.

As for dedis I hear awesome things about Rackspace and Liquidweb.

Thanks for the tips, Liquidweb has some pretty good deals on Dedicated. As for the domains, not really sure what to do. I really like having them all in one place and it's going to be a pain in the ass to transfer them, we'll see.

I honestly just don't understand how they can take a domain, then charge you $200 to get it back when you did nothing wrong.

Ah so are the ways of their fucked up TOS. They also do that retarded 60 day hold bullshit which is suppose to be illegal under ICANN... not that they care.

went with a VSP from Liquidweb tonight. Like some of the features you can add and unlimited emails. You should get the commish Rage9, Thanks

For VPS, I would highly reccomend Slice Host. I use their unmanaged service. I believe that they have recently been purchased by Rack Space.

Damn I do have an affiliate link! That's not what I'm all about though, as long as you get a good service I'm happy.
