This seems to be a much discussed topic lately around here and one that I am trying to improve at.

Here is a free ebook on how to pre-sell.... yes I know that wickedfire is very anti ebook but its a free pdf with good information and only a few plugs for the sitesell product inside.

Some points in the book:
Don't push your visitors to click, instead make them want to click like its their own idea..

Don't sell with your page, give them the information they were looking for and build your credibility as a trusted source of information and open their mind to buying but let the landing page close the sale..

not a big fan of that site because the whole thing is a presell of there product(s) they give the stuff away and keep saying if you used our.... it would be so easy for you! so it is really using a free ebook as a sales technique

chris do you have any recommended reading for pre-selling stuff, either online or book? I have no clue where to look as far as learning how to be a good salesman.
 
Also, they are selling a product for building and getting traffic to your site and most of us are already able to do that .. preselling is a different story so I just skipped over their little sales pitches and got alot of info I was looking for.

among about 30 other books I have read on the subject. Here is the thing, don't read just 1 book, it is like getting a degree you need to have a wide range of knowledge that you will not get in 1 book. I have read the ebook in this thread, there is good info there and I understand why they do it, I don't think there product is worth it in the end though. there is nothing special about what they do and alot of it for organic search gets supped pretty fast.
