This is my second campaign ever so bear with me cause im a n00b, but I had made a landing page for an offer and it is basically a summary of how the program works with some pictures (and it has the requisite contact us, about page, etc) and has a few sign up now buttons and it was running profitably for 3 days and today I see that all my ads have been disallowed because the page has been determined to be a bridge page.

The editorial guidelines say this:
 •
 • Bridge Pages: Ads for webpages that act as an intermediary, whose sole purpose is to link or redirect traffic to the parent company
Forgive my naivete but isnt that the whole point of an affiliate landing page?

How can I modify my page to make it something other than a bridge page.
If necessary ill show the page cause i suck at this anyhow and its not very original.

Create multiple pages of content related to your offer, throw in some non affiliate outbound links. You can make them less obvious than your affiliate page of course. Cloak your affiliate links. You could actually try just cloaking the affiliate links. Google doesn't like "landing pages" anymore for the most part, you need to make a "landing site" with your offer page part of a larger website.

It's probably that you page is just not enough your own. It's tempting when you're pressed for time or new to basically mimic the merchants sales page on your LP instead of making it much more your own; i.e. pros/cons, all new text, no proliferation of banners, etc. They like quality, relavance and originality.

yeah my aff links are php redirects and i do have a link to wikipedia but i guess i could throw up a few more pages of bullshit around the landing page and still send traffic to the main page, but its annoying because my competitors have even less content and have been doing this for longer and seem to not have any problems, could this be because my account is new?

Im sure it could it be... I have a campaign that I was running for a few weeks where I was sending traffic to an address on my site that was simply a PHP redirect to the companies site/landing page without any issue. Infact I was getting "Great" QS...

In some of our verticals, I am constantly reporting bridge pages to get them removed.

In other verticals, all I have up is bridge pages, noone bothers with them.

Take ringtones for example..95% of the sites in adwords are just crappy bridge pages.

Google does not apply their own rules evenly across all verticals.

The way around this is to add a few secondary pages, add some links that connect to other domains that are not affiliate links (think footer and from the secondary pages) . Make the page fell more liek a full site than just a page between Google and the Merchant (the bridge).

I have had tons of pages that dont have thousands of outgoing links and other pages merely one page landing pages, i have never had this problem. Like one person said just try to make it look more like your own page, dont bother adding shitty links all over the place that will just lower your conversion.

Yeah is that what he is saying? thats not very cool man why would you do that?

Dude it is business. Everyone is trying to make money.

If someone is skirting the system putting you at a disadvantage you have a few options.

Sitting there and sucking it up because you think it is macho is the dumbest option.

Amen brutha! Aren't we all here looking for an advantage? Diorex just has the cajones to tell you about one of the WMD's in his arsenal. I'm glad he did, because, I never thought about that before, but I'll be sure to use it now. If you take the time to build a website for a product that you're selling, why would you want to pay more for your keywords simply because you're competing with people that violate Adwords TOS? Report 'em! I love it!

Diorex, you fuckin' rock man!

I thought you had to use landing pages with Google Adwords as they won't accept affiliate links ?

Google Adwords Ad --> PHP redirect page on your own domain --> Direct to merchant

Simple. I've never had any problems with it, and it eliminates the need for a landing page. I don't use it ALL cases, but it saves a lot of time when you can get away with it. :D

Okay, sounds good and I'm very familiar with framed redirects, but what is a php redirect as opposed to a framed? How is it set up and does it work differently? (Or is it the same thing if the php code is in the frame with the affiliate link?)
