On a beach somewhere :)
Hey Guys.

Ive had a profitable green tea campaign using google's content network for 2 months now. On a weekly basis i was seeing increase in leads and impressions and things were going great.
Until one day traffic decreased and then the next day it stopped.

I thought it was my domain so i registered a new one but after running the offer for 1 day on search (to get faster results), which i was getting 2-10% CTR, the traffic stopped coming.
I went from a QS of 7 or 8/10 to a 1/10.

I even had a site of content built around the LP.
I also tried running the new domain on a new adwords accounts and still this happened.
The content network traffic is just trickling in...
I dont know what to do.
Any ideas?

Thanks Guys

Yep, this is happening to me too right now. Also tried making a completely fresh LP with new copy, on a new IP. Worked for a day, and then slapped again. Haven't tried on another account yet though. This is also in the weight loss niche btw and I think that's the issue. Campaigns in another niche was running fine throughout these slaps.

I'm also open for ideas :)

Yup, I setup 3 new campaigns on content this past weekend and all of them received zero impressions due to low quality score. G is definitely fucking with the diet niche.

I sent an email to them inquiring as to why they are bitchslapping all my campaigns and this is their partial reply:

blah blah blah...

Based on what I've seen, I think it may be difficult for you to advertise this particular site with AdWords and get a good return-on-investment. In my experience, websites connected to this type of business model do not perform well on the AdWords system. Due to this face, it may be difficult for your website to ever receive a good landing page quality score.

Ok, now I can accept that Google doesn't like the quality of my site in terms of not enough text, not multiple pages etc (from a technical perspective) and that I may get punished for that by lack of impressions. It's another thing however when they tell me I won't get a good ROI on what I've put up. I mean, don't fuckin tell me where I'll make money and where I won't. Thanks for the advice Adwords, because I really enjoy putting up websites to lose money. Fuckin retards...

G00gle arent feeling very christmassy atm. They are slapping loads of ppl.

2 probs

- too many spammy sites
- too many reasonable sites being slapped

I have heard some horror stories about yah00 also. They have been slapping people for setting up blogs to promote their sites and repeadedly pointing people to their TOS.

It makes you wonder if its worth creating sites that play fair at all.

Some of the most recent things I have heard ppl getting slapped for are all the different types of unique content plugs. Many can leave footprints. I am paranoid with anything involving random html code, like all the WP plug ins ppl have been using.

I get depressed because it seems to be very hard to set up sites and make money without getting slapped. I am also not into some of the really spammy stuff that goes on.

*rant over*

It's alot more than just Acai. I'm not sure why a company that lost half it's value in the last year would be turning away money, but they are.

They are swinging the slap hammer with wreckless abandon.

I got this reply after inquiring to support why they won't let me use their advertising system to advertise:

Thank you for chatting in to the Google AdWords team. I understand you
were concerned because your 'xxxxxxxxxxxx' ads stopped suddenly
stopped accruing Content Network impressions on December 4th. I also
recognize that you are confused about why this may have happened since
your had been receiving many impressions and clicks before this date. I
have consulted with a specialist team and determined that your ad may not
be performing well on the Content Network because it is advertising for a
weight loss solution through affiliate advertising. As such, your website
may have low landing page quality.

I realize that it may be difficult to understand why you have only
recently seen a decrease in Content Network impressions and encountered a
problem with landing page quality. However, please be assured that our
system constantly updates and monitors ads. For this reason, it is
possible for your account to undergo review at any time.

k thanks google.

Get a clue.. the acai and other "free trial" (not really) offers are on the blocks. Jon supposedly made 600K in acai but is not doing it anymore. Wonder why?

If you can't see the writing on the wall then you are a dumbass.

it's not surprising they are slapping blog sites. put up something that actually takes effort to make and maybe they will be more considerate. not having blatant false advertising all over the place might be a good idea too.

I've been slapped twice in a week, spoke to another person that was hit 3 times this week and now can't get impressions at all, even with new site / ip.

so really, there is no solution as of yet.
With my acai/green tea site, i actually had a ton of content with articles pages. I even had a site map, privacy policy, all that good stuff.
And i got slapped.
Is google simply killing the diet market for affiliates because of all the false advertising thats going on?

happening to me too man, google is hitting the acai and weight loss niche pretty hard it looks like. Just gonna have to adapt, try new traffic sources, and new niches.

This. Google is targeting the weight loss blogs, which tbh is no surprise ;)

Yes having false advertising on your blog is a great reason for google to slap you. Cut back a little on the advertising and add some value to your blog so it can stay in the search engines. Google definitely doesn't like blogs with only advertisements, add some content in their for your visitors and it will hold more authority.

Google does not like Acai, especially the fake blogs. They will slap and slap and slap you again. Move on. Or find some sneaky way to hide it.

No, its called building a legit site. They are way too advanced for those spammy blogs. Comm'on man.
