I looked into the GPS and they promote everything form TV's to viagra here where all merchants can cut out
the middleman (affiliates) and promote their product directly in google's first page with a nice thumbnail which generates tons of clicks...

Do I not understand this correctly or is this not the death of many affiliates which relies mainly on traffic from Google ?

If I as a consumer are looking for, let's say a new phone, I type in HTC Sensation, I see a nice picture of the phone and best prices in my currency.
Why would I ever go to any other link ?

Do you guys not see this as a mayor problem ?

Maybe it's a bit of a doomsday view on this new service....
I just see it as a really helpful service if I'm looking to buy a new product, especially in the last stage of purchase where I have decided what product I want to buy and only looking for price and shipping options.

It just kicks Kelkoo, pricegrabber etc. right in th nuts....

Thanks for the input..

So if an affiliate review site is at the top, you'll most likely read the review then go back to google product search to find the best price?

Things not looking so good..

whats the point of taking your stupid CPA offer and putting it on google?
there is no value in this in first place (no homo but this biz model is doomed to fail)..
do it like demand media, give them what they want

^repped. A quick google search and there's a shitload of threads like this about froogle starting from 2002. Exact same concern - "are you seeing reduced sales from froogle listings at the top of search results?".

OP is living in 2002. hey op I'm from the future we will eventually kill osama bin laden
