Yeah, read that yesterday. There are probably a few unknown adsense earners who make more than the last 5. John Chow is the man, he should start posting here.
 
Thought the same when I read it. Still, it does make the Adsense is dying talk a bit wacky :rainfro:

John Chow makes most of his money through affiliate ads. And this is a top Adsense earners list.
 
there's always people like Jon who dont explicitly say how much they're making, so they're never on these top 'whatever' lists
 
Agreed Stan, there are probably many, many, many, many $XXX,XXX earners you never hear about. I think most people prefer to keep to themselves about shit like that.
 
There are a bunch of people here making more than some of the guys on the list. I must say the comments are always retarted in blog posts like that.

I know 4 of those 8 guys, and I've heard of 2 others.. If I had a picture of me holding my bank wire statement from Sept 2001 for my adult sites, I would be beating all 8 of them combined, and then some. But those days are long gone, and it was way too hardcore and fast paced for even me.

Kudos to Markus, Kevin, Shoe, Joel, and Hogan for making the list.

Offshore accounts?

I would suspect that everyone on that list uses an LLC or some type of corporation, but when it comes down to it, how much do they pay to themselves personally? A lot of people get very greedy and start paying themselves into offshore accounts, which is fine and all by me but when you're living in the US, a lot of times you can be careless with it, and get yourself audited. Granted, if you have the cash stored away, audit or not, you can most likely get yourself out of it if there are fines, but let's be serious, there is nothing fun about being audited. Thankfully that has never happened to me, and hopefully never will, but I've seen friends my age get audited and lose their entire fortunes and credit, it really sucks. I never want to make any of these lists with my whole name on there, just too paranoid about it. One day I hope my company makes the Forbes or Fortune small business list, and that would be good enough for me.


PS - Aruba and Antigua give 13% interest rates on min. $550k cash or wire deposits.
 
Most people do not talk about how much they make. It is questionable if the number 1 position there would make the actual top 10 list.

I know for a fact that Shoe and Markus and definitely Hogan belong on that list. I'm pretty sure Joel Comm also makes a boat load, even though I don't really agree with his business, I'm not going to knock it, because he's just another businessman like the rest, and since he doesn't break the law or hurt anyone, he's fine in my book.
 
Do you like live in a Penthouse in NY and own a sweet exotic car Jon? I mean if you were beating all those guys, I know I would :)
 
Markus made the $10,000 a day statement months ago, and his traffic has grown considerably. Also notice that Shoemoney's check is from last year. Jon's biggest fan, Lee also posted a nice little YPN screenshot on his blog.

All those guys earning so much money with Adsense, lots of respect... :bowdown: , but if Google should publish their own list of biggest Adsense earners we might be surprised. I think that there are many many more big Adsense earners we don't know of, especially in the category nr. 6 - 8 on John's list! :)
 
Problem is that list is arbitrarily pulled out of thin air. I have heard of most of those people. The reality is there are a lot of people out there who have businesses who make a lot of money with adsense. I am not saying any of those people do not make a lot. I just think the list is compiled as some sort of authority, without any actual research.

I could make a Forbes list of the richest people of the world and put some guy who makes 2 billion dollars at the top. 2 billion is a lot of money, but it does not make my list accurate.

Those are individuals I agree, but behind the screens many of them are also (registered as) companies for accounting reasons, etc. Someone who presents himself as a company can be still operating as an individual or one-man-show! Also most of mentioned names on list probably have their own staff like designers, programmers, business managers, etc. Though it's true that big companies with many employees are not part of the list! :)
