Groupon should have taken that 6 billion

lol...you gotta wonder why no one brought that up as an issue when they refused that $6 000 000 000.

i'm with u guys .. 6 billion!!!!!!!! clearly Google was off their rocker, groupon fucked that up. and fuck groupon anyway

The whole coupon biz is a stupid business model. Merchants sign up and try it once, hoping for return customers but no one comes back. Then they never use Shitpon ever again.

think of all the beer, women, and blow you could buy for 6 billion

instead they're left with a shitty coupon website to take care of as it dies

Margo Georgiadis timing to join groupon really sucks. Shouldn't she advised groupon to take the money.

i couldn't agree more. It's not like they have some unique proprietary service that cannot be replicated. We have ran so many different 'coupon' type offers and they are being copied everyday. My favorite by far: Jewpon | New York Deals of the Day fucking hilarious. Andrew Mason is going to be kicking himself for not taking 6 billski, what a mistake.

I already got it.

always thought groupon was a pile of shit. never been on it and don't know anyone who has (i'm 20).

and as far as facebook goes...don't hate the player hate the game. zuckerbro knows what he's doing and he's certainly not afraid to step on anyone's feet.

So, you think Groupon is a pile of shit whilst having never even been on the site?

So you feel qualified to comment on a site/user experience without ever having used it? I know a lot of people around that age that use it all the time because they don't have a ton of money and it saves them cash on things they do already.

Yes, facebook can leverage their userbase for their deals so there will be competition, but, as others have said groupon will IPO soon, so we'll see if they made the right call.

I have read multiple stories about businesses having the opposite experience of what you are describing.

I am now a repeat customer at a local coffee/tea/shake shop after a local groupon clone gave me a free drink there for signing up. I am addicted to their mango shake.
