4 am here, before going to bed I throw up this site

sounds like a really huge disaster so if you ever felt like doing something for those in need this might be the time to actually send something

not sure why I did it, maybe for the beers I had tonight, it will probably be wasted time but it costs nothing so...why not?

throw some traffic at it if you can, digg, bookmark or anything else

I'm not taking anything away from Haiti ... It's pretty much devastated after this ... I just wanted to mention that we're setup for a MAJOR catastrophe here in the states.

Memphis Earthquake Hazard Mapping Project

There were a few major quakes in the 1800's in Memphis, one that made the Mississippi river run backwards, another that flooded most of Arkansas; another is expected as the New Madrid fault shifts again sometime this century.

News from an inside source is that Army Engineers have done models and found that Memphis' devastation will be at minimum 10x worse than what happened in New Orleans during Katrina.

Just some random food for thought

erect, move?
I mean if you really are afraid of it (as i would because I know a lot about that quake) why not move?

Think of all the crazy disasters that have happened where you say to yourself something like "well, you did have your city right next to an active fucking volcano, morons..".

Is the closeness of friends and family worth the rolling of the dice every day?

Does anyone think that the US response to the Haiti earthquake is better than for hurricane katrina?

Or if you read the bible , and believe where it says that mankind gave God the non-interventionist role when we sold out in the garden of Eden.

Every culture has creation myths. People who can't see that and actually believe their little stories are true, are proud members of the sheeple.

More critical thinking and less indoctrination would be good for everyone. But it's tough for kids. On one hand at school they're taught science and to base things on reason and evidence. Meanwhile their parents may be well be telling them to "have faith" and just believe in stuff cause they "said so" and old stories say so. That's a tough one to reconcile.

Maybe it's because we have a Pres who gives a shit about black people for a change?

Unlike Pat Robertson, et al who are still blaming the Haitians for being devil worshippers. Christian, my fat, hairy ass.

Anybody else remember post Katrina when Barbara Bush visited N Orleans and said, quote that this whole thing "has worked out quite well for them?" She meant in her twisted reptilian way that, since the people were dirt poor before, but NOW they were getting shelter and food, that it was a WIN/WIN for them.

There's no such thing as a non-interventionist God if he created absolutely everything in existence.

how can you say that? I can start a ball rolling down a hill, bouncing around as it hits stones. Doesn't mean that I intervene in its path while it's going.

A god that started everything (including even laws which govern the environment) is no more of an interventionist than you are over an ant farm you built and watch on top of your desk.

Now if you are talking about who is ultimately responsible for shit like the earthquake in haiti, thats another matter. Doesn't mean there is present intervention.
