Have you regained rankings after the Google letter of unnatural links?

I was just having a discussion with someone about if you got the notice of detected unnatural links from Google in your webmaster tools account.

They were saying the ONLY way you can recover your main keyword ranking's is from a manual reconsideration review.

Has anyone here recovered their rankings without a manual review?

Can anyone confirm this?

^ I moved all of them sites to new domains not long after the notices. No 301 crap, no trying to fix it after the fact. Just started over on new domains with the same sites. Probably the most cost effective thing to do.

yes I agree if a mandatory manual review is the case......there isnt much of a chance to clean up the past.

Only one of my sites did...it was #1-2 before the warning...after recovering, the highest it got to was #4-5. Had a few natural backlinks on that site but had a shitload of social shares though.

The only site I recovered I spent an entire week working on a Google manual review including a fuck-ton of proof of my efforts including a link to a Google Docs spreadsheet detailing it.

Even then, some of my keywords never recovered but most have.

By the way, people that have ALN type blogs that are deindexed by Google, fuck you for keeping them up. No seriously. FUCK you.

I lot of you guys still have shitty back links that either have no auth. or credibility, or have a shit ton of the same anchors.
