Help with Keywords

I have been perusing the board about Adwords campaigns and I keep running into a bit of a problem. Right now I am running a campaign on credit card offers. I am currently using Aaron Walls' free tool to generate a keyword list. My problem is, no matter how hard I try, I am generating list with 75-150 or so keywords. Yet, i see articles written that talk about campaigns with up to 1000-2000 keywords? wtf!

Here is an example campaign that I drew a list of keywords, but I am unable to expand this list. Could some of you more veteran WF help me out with ideas.

using keywords

credit card,credit cards,credit line, credit card offer,credit cards for

bad,poor,good,best,top,student

Im getting a list like this:

Add the names of certain credit cards or just the brand name and you can duplicate that list many times over. It's pretty easy...
 
many people use thousands keyword's that aint never gettin clicked
try doing thousands niche's, few kws kill the losers keep the winner's that's when the money come's
 
you could try reordering the words in the phrase for example: "credit cards best" I think would do better like this :"best credit cards" or even "the best credit card". Think how would someone search for this, adding things like : review(s), comparison and creating different keyphrases...
Some ideeas:

instant approval credit card
business credit card
credit cards for business use
credit cards for students
credit cards offers
the best credit cards offers
credit cards offers reviews
online credit card offers
online reviews for credit cards

The reason why they look the way they do or are in the manner which you see, is because I just copied and pasted what was in my keyword generator.
 
No offense but the financial markets are not where a newbie should start. There is no way you will make money. Period. Start with something else, you'll thank me later.
 
I had a list of 40,000 keywords for one campaign, and only 15 of the keywords got any traffic. So, I started cutting my lists down - a lot.

You don't need huge keyword lists to make money, you need laser targeted lists. Find keywords related to what you're selling. If you want people to buy coffee, don't bid on the very broad word "coffee" because you'll chew up your budget on that. It's too broad. Narrow it down to "purchase coffee", "buy coffee", "buy kona blend coffee", etc.

Be careful with huge lists, they can eat up your budget in a heartbeat if they are not targeted properly.
 
Agreed, try something but finance till you find your feet. But if you insist...

Keep the ad groups targetted, but split them out into different niches: eg, cashback creditcards, air miles credit cards etc and run these through your with your multiplier keywords. Make sure the ad copy and landing page correspond to your niche.
 
The reason I am doing credit cards is because I signed up for what seemed to be a good deal in that an affiliate was supplying the website with the card offers, private policies and design. I get to try it out for $1. So I thought that this would be a cool opportunity. The only thing I would have to do is drive traffic to my site and the rest would take care of itself. Thats the only reason I am doing credit cards. But, maybe i do need to rethink this. But, first I am gonna expand my keywords with the more targeted stuff like, "amex card offers, HSBC card offers,etc
