Hi Guys,

I want to hide the referrer URL to my advertisers so that they don't steal my landing pages (possibly avert what happened over there at the CPAE thread). Anyhoo, I tried doing meta refresh to two domains, but the problem is that it took way to long to finally get the user to the advertiser's site.

What is the best, most efficient way to hide the referrer URL?

Can some explain the benefit of hiding your referer url?

Hiding the referrer is basically equivalent to someone typing your affiliate url directing into the browser. Typically, if you are promoting an affiliate product on a website, and a visitor clicks on that outgoing link and makes a purchase at a merchant site, the merchant will be able to tell that the referrer is your website. Merchants (or in the case of affiliate networks) like to be able to see where the traffic is coming from. Sometimes, if a referrer is blanked, they think that you are doing Blackhat methods to earn revenue. EPN (Ebay's affiliate network aka Ebay Partner Network) recently started kicking their affiliates out of their program due to blank referrers). Some networks don't care though.
