Hi

Been doin keyword research for adsense sites and found a keyword with cpc over 3 usd, monthly exact around 5k, but when searching the keyword in google, no ads show up. Checked spyfu, also no advertisers. Am i correct in my thinking that it would be waste of time building EMD adsense site for this term?

Thnx

If you have the emd.com domain the I would build it anyway, throw some links now and then. Related keywords would probably be pretty high cpc too.

There are many elements that influence Adwords CPC. The bid being the most obvious. Google uses a Quality Score that also shapes the CPC.

If there are little or no bids on specific keywords it appears that Google makes a best estimate based upon Broad Matching keyword CPC. If the broad matching keywords lead to pages where the visitors don't engage the site well - Google may assign a low Quality Score to these sites. Hence, raising the lower bid. Google Adsense publishers see the flip side of this coin in Smart Pricing.

This can then influence the
displayed CPC in Google's tool.

Most likely, the traffic on this domain has trouble converting for the exact keyword or Google has trouble identifying conversions. Adsense may be Smart Priced unless you can really engage the visitors.

My observation as of late has been that adsense is serving up retargetting ads. So it would appear that KWs are a bit less relevant than previously. I could be wrong...

Adsense serves up what it thinks will make the most revenue. - Just means your category is not particularly profitable compared to other less related things, even with a lower click through due to less targeting.

also check advertisers count on keywordspy.com
if its still 0 then DONT GO FOR ADSENSE :D i had done it twice and failed badly those times .

Also look at your keywords and try to feel what the user want [who will search for this keyword]
if this keyword can bring affiliate sales then GO ON .
