FUUUUUUCK HOSTGATOR.
Every other month, they take the blogs I manage for my day job down and say "You're using too much cpu/bandwidth". They then tell me to switch to one of the 3 other caching plugins I'm not currently using and tell me 19 plugins is too many. Usually, I make zero changes and they stupidly say "Oh, okay, looks good!" and turn my site on. Today, all of my work blogs are down 6+ hours. They take 2+ hours to respond to my messages. Their reason: "Lots of business from former GoDaddy customers".
Three times ago, I asked them to advise me on which upgraded account I needed (yes, I'm pulling half a million uniques on the cheapest shared hosting and I knew that probably wasn't enough) and never once got a response. This time, they just pitched the highest dedicated plan.
Too bad I have sites pulling far more bandwidth on a competitors lowest VPS, so I know they're just tired of me and going for money instead of actually trying to help and get me on the right plan.
6+ hours of business site outages with 2+ hour response times + worthless tech support to explain WHY they took my sites down = me moving off them ASAP.
