Hosting issues! Need some help.

Yesterday I bought a domain and hosting. I received the hosting information and immediately changed the nameservers and installed wordpress on the root directory. The hosting's splash page is still showing up. I did clear out all history/cookies/stuff.

Any reason why my wordpress install isn't showing up?

It could be that the DNS hasn't updated on your end yet...
Try to see if you can view your site using a Proxy Server... here's a bunch of them here:

check your config.php and make sure your sql info is correct ?

Its been about 14 hours total since I updated the nameservers and installed wordpress.

It usually takes upto 24 hours before the domain is activated but if that doesn't work after 24 hours try reinstalling the wordpress theme again.

Is it in Hostgator, go daddy? In host gator, just reinstall it in fatastico deluxe and you're done. WE can easily guide you out if you can name it.

DNS propagation can take quite some time, supposedly, but I've never had it take more than 10 minutes.

If the domain isn't your "main" domain for the hosting account, you will need to create an "add-on domain" which will redirect the domain to the correct folder in your FTP. Creating an add-on domain creates the folder for you. But you have to make sure you install Wordpress or whatever into that folder.

I'll just wait the 24 hours out and if it isn't up and running I will reinstall both the nameservers and wordpress.
