I put this in the newbie forum cause I did not know where to put it.

I have a string of phpbay sites. I have 2 shared hosting accounts. Well over the last few days my sites hosted on blue host randomly go down they don't call or email or anything to tell me the server is fucked up.
I call them they do some patch until the server is fixed but no clear answer on when it will be fixed. I maybe make 2200 -3400 a month from these sites. So this pisses me off to no end. So I call them for the third night in a row. About this issue and the guy does yet another patch. I ask him what the real problem is causeing this and he tells me that it has somthing to do with the zen optomiser. I don't know what that is, but can they not just transfer the sites to another server? I really just want to know how I can jam them up tomarrow when those sites go down again.
I also have another question. Can I just buy a server like a dell or whatever and run it from my house. I dont know what I would need to do that I have time warner internet. Would I need to upgrade to business class or somthing.
I guess Im just looking for a way out of shared hosting any ideas? I know I could get a deticated server online with a coupple of c-blocks but really with as sketchy as eBay is I don't want to spend alot of cash each month with no garentee on a return. any ideas would be appericated

Thanks,

With any company you are doing business with all you can do is to stress to them how long and good of a customer you have been with them and if they can't get your sites on a good server with no problems, then you are packing up and leaving to the many other hosting companies available to you (dime a dozen)... their decision will be based on how much they value you as a customer.

Not sure about hosting from home, I'm sure someone else will chime in and give some feedback on that.

But you can find a very decent enough dedicated for like a $100.- per month range. Because you are the only one on the server - your site speed/performance will be blazing compared to your hosting accounts with the shared hosts.

If I were you, I'd get the dedicated with a company who is known for good customer support. Many have been mentioned on the forum, search and investigate.

good luck.

If you make $2,200-3,400 a month from these sites it's stupid to have them on shared hosting in the first place. Get a dedicated server and pay $100 a month and you won't have to worry about shit.

And no, you can't run a server from your home, that's an even worse idea than using shared hosting.

Go to Dedicated Servers | Managed Dedicated Servers | Web Hosting | VPS | Liquid Web and get a server there, they'll manage everything for you.

^^QFT. The fact that you'd let your revenue stream run though your fingers over shared hosting is plain retarted.

Not that your grammar isn't retarded either or anything.
