What can they help with and what can they not help with?
What are some necessary questions you should ask every AM?

If you're not making money with their offer, can you ask them to review your keywords list? I know they can review landing pages.

I'm not sure what to ask since I don't want to go out of my "boundaries" and sound like a noob (which I am, but I don't want to bother them, and there are some things I can't ask on a forum).

Should I stick with smaller niches, before I get to networks? (Azoogle, Copeac, etc..) Is there more competition between affiliates over there?

Thanks

Asking her for a date! (after that you don't have to worry anymore about payout increase or if you screw up things you better look for different network) :D

I'd say no don't ask them those things. When it comes to generating traffic that's your specialty. There's very few that I've come across that know ANYTHING about how to generate traffic and that's fine. As that's not their jobs. Things they can help you with are if you are doing things in a grey area like bidding on trademarked terms or something like that, they can tell you which advertisers are ok with that and which are not. Who will pay you and who won't even if you fudge the rules a little. They can tell you when they're working on a new offer in a niche that you work in. But honestly they're their to give you someone to talk with if you should need to. Nothing worse then having a lot of money on the line, having an advertiser shit can you, and not have your affiliate company respond AT ALL. *cough cough CJ* Them telling you you aren't going to get paid on something silly where the advertiser is just trying to get out of paying cause it's a big chunk of change. And having no one that will pick up the phone or will even respond to you. :)

I figured the same this is supposed to be my job, but I hear people talking about how wonderful their AM's are, and I was just making sure I wasn't missing out on some important information. Although I've had a couple affiliate managers go out of their way, so it could be the same thing.

You thinking too much my friend... Just ask them everything what's in your mind! Though most AM don't have the knowledge regarding stuff we do on a daily basis (keyword lists, setting up ppc campaigns, design, seo, etc.) but ask them very relevant questions related to their offers and should be fine! :)

Well, I'm glad you said that, since being drunk I made this post and e-mailed my AM right after, instead of waiting for replies :crying:

I never email them, always IM or call them up if necessary (though I don't know which part of the world you are living)!

The only things they can help me with is increasing my earnings percentage. lol

Some AM's will not help you much while others will go well out their way into helping you with alot.

They want to help you because the more you sell the better for them, but the problem is most don't know much about making money through aff sales. If they did, they'd be doing it themselves right?
