Ok. So I've had this website for a year already. It has some content but I really haven't gotten an amount of visitors to brag about, hardly any action at all, maybe because I really haven't worked hard on it..

The name of the site is "Flat to Fit". Here's the link if you want to check it out:
Flat to Fit

I suppose it would fall in the fitness niche..
The idea behind it was to create a site especially for women wanting to get curves, the good kind.

The audience would be fat or skinny women, just any woman wanting a hot body.

The site would present women with information on how to get the ideal body. Tiny waist, round butt, boobs, no cellulite stretch marks etc. and how to be beautiful and healthy.

Do you guys think I could actually develop this site into something awesome?
What do you think I need to work on?
Maybe I need MORE content?

I know for a fact you could make money with this site!

Right now I dont' see that you are monetizing at all. I'd slang products of all kinds, from yoga mats and clothes, to kettlebells, to small and colorful dumbbells, etc. Cute gym shirts. Sign up for any affiliate program that has these and go!

Create a very nice Pinterest profile and slam that sucker with all kinds of pics of these products and more. Just whatever you can get, and have each pic and description linking back to relevant pages on your site. Get on Facebook, MyFitnessPal forums, Bodybuilding.com, and wherever else you can leech traffic.

Keep you content quality high, casual, and fun as you have done, versus just churning out 100's of articles that are written for robots. Push push push and you can have something very solid here.

There are some changes I'd make to the design of the website as well that I won't go into because that's personal taste. I'd get rid of that footer link to the theme creator for one.

Also, there are 10,000 girls with blogs about fitness and they love to give blogroll links to nice sites and they all do this giant incest comment circle jerk that you could get involved with. Find the best sites and start commenting regularly. One-a-day type of thing.

This type of site is one of those slow-builds, but it could make you wealthy. Think about all the creams, salt-spray dry shampoo stuff, all that stuff the average sporty girl will buy. Nice shoes, nice colorful socks, resistance bands! Supplements, diet products, cookbooks.

Write e-books. Sell diet plans. Sell a monthly workout subscription plan. So many things you could do!

I hope this brain dump helps in some fashion :)

oh my, thank you for all of this. I'll definitely start working on it for real. I really appreciate all the tips, lets see what this baby can do!

+1 thehobbster's post.

OP nice site, keep going.

*determine how you want to monetize the site, who's your target audience and how you're planning to get them to your site.

Here are a few things i would do with the site. Most are just personal preferences:
- shorter menu's titles
- create a custom layout for the front page and category pages.
- create a resource page
- add an email capture box at the top right (give away something in return for an email addr)
- about/contact/disclaimer (make them good, take your time with these) and maybe some social stuffs in the footer too.
- add the logo again in the footer to tie the overall design together and for branding purposes
- add lots and lots more pictures.
- right side bar - add article feature pictures to those articles
- interlink your articles. ratio: 1 link/~100 words
- link out to others (doesn't matter which site, just whatever relevant/useful, not spam sites)
- setup google+ author
- add fav icon
- turn off article's date if you don't post often
- add more content to sidebar (pictures of the day or video of the day or tip of the day or quote of the day or book of the day or exercise of the day)

if you want to see examples check these sites:

If that seems like a lot, it is. take baby steps, learn and enjoy the journey.

hope this helps. best of luck.

Thanks Tom for the great tips! I do realize that the more pictures part is very important, since the site revolves around looks, and I've also thought about the "quote of the day" sort of thing. Greaaatt advice! I appreciate it!

This is an A+ post. I mostly just do churn and burn mfa sites, but I do have one site in the fitness niche that I take extra care of and hope to make it some kind of "authority" one day. Good stuff.

It looks a good clean site and has content so I don't know why you couldn't make money. I think the whole thing in this game is persistence.
