How did you get into Affiliate Marketing?

Stumbled on two ebooks about 2 years ago and the concept blew my mind.
I still remember which ones were they, one was called Who loves money and the other was Super affiliate handbook from Rosalind Gardner.

I was first introduced to the concept of affiliate marketing from SiteSell. I downloaded and read their free ebook cover to cover (all 200 pages of it)... although I was in 6th grade and despite my CJ powered coupon site only made a couple hundred dollars.
I did a lot of CPA ads on websites I owned but didn't realize how lucrative it was to buy ads on other sites until much later. I was thinking about purchasing MillionDollarWiki.com, and the owner told me most of the traffic came from paid blog posts on ShoeMoney.com and JohnChow.com. When I went to ShoeMoney I saw UberAffiliate's guest post about Facebook ads which opened my eyes as to how profitable affiliate marketing could be.

It all started when I was on some botting forums for a game called runescape. Runescape is similar to WoW but you are considered gayer if you play it. But, I tell everyone I played runescape and get made fun off, because I am what I am.

I was searching for more info from the method and then discovered BHW, in which blah blah blah shit shit shit I speak broken english. Then I started some good ol' spamming ewhoring for like 2-3 months. Inboxing emails like it ain't a thing. No, but I had no idea what I was doing spamming craiglist, I was using gmails and 2 PVAs I made. After my first cock sighting I switched to an automated emailer thats cracked that I downloaded from BHW. Yah, I was regularly giving away free ipods because I won a new one. But then I already gave it away but you could get one free at my link. Or I was really interested in meeting you, but please go to this dating website so we can talk more. Or my favorite, I was in a car crash and unable to satisfy my wife sexually so I was looking for someone to satisfy her. Anyways, after a while I realized

So after that I think I jerked it for a while.
Then I joined here. Decided to make my own site and do some SEO (whitehat brotha) went snail pace, cause it was all new to me, and school was a bitch, and MW2 was calling. Anyways, and now I am working on my site, and starting some FB PPC and so far liking it ALOT. I like the fact that results are much quicker, and I can just tweak shit till it hopefully works. (Ran my first campaign a week ago, ran at a -80$ ROI so I made back 20% of the money I spent lol) But I'm confident I can make it work, need to get a decent CTR, and made 3 new LPs to test out. Also got tracking so I can track everything (lambdatracker). Anyways, I think I'm rambling here, but I just want to take a moment and say if it weren't for the wickedfire I would still be at BHW some CPAlead widgets up my ass and asking about which networks to join that don't require phone verification.
