I want to get in contact with the owner of a domain but the whois info is private any ideas on how I can get in contact with them?

the email address should forward to the owner, failing that, no.

- Googlefu the URL and see if owners has posted about it online anywhere (forums, help sites, etc.)
- Buy a whois data account. some sites sell these, success rate of like 5%. they scrape all new domains and store whois history before its set to private. waste of $ usually.
- try emailing admin@ help@ support@ info@domain.com and see if you can find any valid ones

if none of that works. you're fucked!

that
+ look for contact us/about us page. Most established sites has this page. For more in dept search try to scrapebox (page search) the pages and see if something like contact or about us page exist on the sitemap.
+ add to the email list contact@, administrator@

You could also try spyonweb.com and see if there are any other sites with same google analytics ID and/or hosted on same IP address and track him that way.

the story behind this is one of my pharmacy sites was stolen and by stolen I mean the domain name was transferred out of my name without me knowing and I did not get any notifications or anything, a few months after this happened I contacted my domain registrar and they said it was done so long ago they could not help me. I did post about this months ago anyway I didn't know it was transferred as the domain was still pointing to my site and has been for over 1 year but now it has been changed and does not point to a active site. Its not a real good site or any thing I don't make much money from this site at all but i would still like to have it back. have tried a few brokers to get it back but they are of no use they just email the private whois registrar and get no where, I did email the registrar of the domain and they said they have forward my details and I have to wait and see if they want to get back to me

all the information I can dig up it about me lol, I will pm shawnhag and see
Can you post here what you got from shawnhag? This might help someone and looking to add some info in my thick skull so I'll know what to do if I buy some christmas domains by mid feb next year..

Sub to thread.. If anyone would be willing to share some juice to this that will be of great help.. Would really need this info by feb 2013. Thanks for the thread anyways

You may be getting an email composed of codes, you can use that email and it would be forwarded.

Did you just try to google the website name , most of the time it will have some info related to it..may be you can find the owner details on a search..
