Okey Thats not true anymore, and i dont have any Anxiety either. Thing s will turn out the way they do and it doesn't matter if I end up thinking about the bad shit that "Could" "possibly" happen . If it actually does happen then I will deal with it there and then, focus on the good parts instead.. It will change the way you look at at life and feel.

Punching bag, going for a drive on my bike and opening up the throttle, and calling my old high school friend - that's a psychiatrist - and just venting with him saying "yeah, yeah".

After 30 minutes of doing either, or all if you're really mad, you'll be fine.

EDIT: Also important, during this 30 minute or so period, to remove yourself from the problem. Meaning for me no phone, computer, or anything that could bring you good or bad news.

:| Are you sure you're talking about anxiety?

I think there's no quick fix in case of anxiety but you can overcome it in time with the right attitude.

I know a lot of people who let their anxiety dictate parts of their life. I for one don't subscribe to that mentality.

If I'm anxious about something, I simply don't let my emotions affect it, ESPECIALLY if I know it's important to do that thing that's triggering the emotional response.

For me, getting more experience usually turns it down pretty fast.

Being confident with something usually just means you've done it a lot. So if you're new to something and it makes you anxious my suggestion is to acknowledge your state of mind and act as if you weren't anxious - meaning: doing that thing anyway.

Write down every single reason why you're anxious.

Write down the worst possible outcomes pertaining to your anxiousness.

Accept every one of them as if it really happened, voice it, sing it, cry it... once you accept the worst, things can only get better. Your burden will be relieved, and each time it comes up it will be a passing thought countered by a "oh, I already accepted ...".

wow, you surely watch your Dr. Phil every day. +rep though, sounds like a good technique.

Is it a documentary? Is it a book? If the answer is no to both, I'll do my best to not consume it. Haven't watched TV in around 7 years. I didn't know what 'big brother' was until last week until I finally heard enough people talk about it to ask what it was... and they were like 'you don't know what big brother is? omgz!'. It's not that I don't care or find it not entertaining, quite the contrary, I just know if I start watching something I'll have to watch all of them. I was lent Dexter a while back, watched every episode in 3 days, completely consumed by it. So I have to control myself by creating bubbles which I can live in which have no temptation for wasting time. I even have to put WickedFire on leechblock at times, haha.

The technique I posted is something I read a while back and it was about how all these successful business men dealt with stress, each had their own unique way to do it. One of the simpler ones, was always accept the worst and you'll never worry about anything again. He went on to say he hadn't been stressed out about anything since practicing this technique.

I just adapted it to my style, which is to write my thoughts down because it's an immediate feeling of relief... couple that with acceptance and you have yourself a consciously controlled brain, instead of a unconsciously troubled one.

Rule of thumb- do something that's at the limit of safety and major injuries/death and all of a sudden little things like monetary losses or personal setbacks seem really really unimportant.
