hey guys you can learn from my mistakes.

So 2 weeks ago I set up this campaign for Christmas offers and it should have gone live 2 days ago. (While I have done this before for last Xmas and it worked really well.)

So I got few thousand high volume keywords in a lot of niches and had $10,000 budget altogether for all the campaigns. ( I took lot a loan for this lol)

Anyhow I had a game plan which always works and would have worked this time as well if I didn't make the biggest mistake. I forgot to set the right date for the campaigns to begin. Now this started on the day of creating the campaign and I didnt take note of it til a week ago. By this time my account had used up $50,000 all up and we barely made any commission from it around that period.

Positive side : We are seeing some conversions now but can't track the keywords etc. I will know much we have recovered in the few weeks though and will update here as we see more conversions. BTW all the campaigns are linked to one network.

ouch. I have been burned several times as well by overlooking the details. Hopefully you will make a good portion of that back before the 20th when all Christmas offers seem to fall off.
 
Keep reading about how this happens to people. Just counting the days when it will happen to me...hopefully alot cheaper.
 
I'm glad people post about them. It allows me to make a mental note not to do the same thing.

Wow, sorry to hear that and hope you're able to make it back. What a nightmare. The most I've ever lost is a few thousand at a time.
 
Most I ever lost was 4k and this makes me feel like it was nothing. Sorry to hear about that though...

If you want to tell me the campaign I'll build it out for you and give you 20% of the profits ;) Hahaha...
 
why would you set such a high budget on a new campaign? I dont understand how you couldnt notice.
but, that does really suck balls, hopefully you can make it back
 
At this time of year, that's seriously gotta suck.

Just goes to show, don't do work when you're tired, drunk or high, and don't think for a second that just because you've been doing this for a while that you're now above fucking it up.

Check, double check, have a cookie and a nap and then check again.

onedollaridea: Hope this doesn't fuck things up totally for you at this time. It'd suck to have work through the holidays just to make up a simple mistake.
