I used to be a "conservative" too. I hated "welfare queens" and all that shit like Popeye. i never hated gays or other races, though. i am popeye's age. The difference is I grew up, basically into an anarchist. "Libertarian" if you like, but more anarchist really. These days, while I'd prefer neither i'd rather give the money to welfare queens than burn it in iraq or ship it to China.

If you dislike Obama because you think he's going to raise taxes and "tax and spend"- OK, then. But that is the EXACT same mentality McCain has. Bush is the biggest tax and spend liberal that has ever existed. McCain really gives no indication that he will change course. He is a self avowed "national greatness" socialist who worships Teddy Roosevelt and has never had a private sector career or had a real interest in cutting the government.

Obama is wrong, yes. But when you have 2 people who are wrong- i am going to root for ( root for, not endorse or vote for) the guy who seems less driven by fear and destruction.

Hating gays, racism and other thinly veiled ( if veiled at all) bigotry as a motivation is just bullshit, and only something small minded people get into. Either you believe in individual rights ( all rights are individual in nature and the individual is really the only unit in society that matters) or you don't. If you want to legislate your bigotries, you are scum. And if you really cared even a little bit about low taxes, you wouldnt support the government spending billions in Iraq and expanding the government to discriminate against individuals.

If you really believe that bullshit, you aren't even a conservative or a "real" Republican in any traditional sense. Having Sean Hannity call you one doesn't count.

Wow, some thread in WF. Didn't learn much from reading all this crap but I must admit I learned one thing from Popeye, I am now all for forced sterilization. :bowdown:

Anyways, plain and simple, no one like paying taxes. It's basic human intuition, I made the money/good why should I share? Makes sense, no shame in feeling this way initially. But if you want to live with others in a society, certain self-sacrifices must be made from members of the community for the welfare of all. Roads, defense, education etc. ultimately need to funded somehow.

For the insanely rich, they are insanely rich because they are making money from other people. If these other people have no money, then there is no more money to be made. The quote on quote poor people are buying the insanely rich people's products (or renting their land or apparently providing sexual favors to Popeye) and eventually the money gets back into the pocket of the rich anyways. You may see your tax dollars come out of your balance sheet but realistically its an investment and eventually the money will come back.

The end game when everyone loses is when no one spends any money, because then there is no money to be made, everyone is scared to spend what money they do have and you end up where we are right now.

Guess who can save the world right now? China. Yes, China has reportedly 2 Trillions dollars in foreign exchange (that's 3 federal bailouts!). Their citizens save on average 30% of their annual income (in comparison, the average in the United States is less than 1%).

On the other side of the coin... I can't understand why people would vote for McCain at all, but still, it's happening...
 
i think we need a civil war. so sick of republican stupidity. i'll never come to terms with the fact that 1/2 of the 300 million people in this country are absolute idiots. it doesn't matter who the candidate is, 1/2 the country will always be fucking retarded.

It's one thing to disagree with one's political beliefs, it's another entirely to consider them retarded idiots & hope for a civil war because they don't vote the way you do. There is a reason for a revolution but it has nothing to do with backing either a republican or a democrat, it has to do with overthrowing BOTH parties.

For a start, the Rep votes are the ones that have the bigger guns and more of them, all wrapped up in 2nd Amendment fluffy goodness :D

Certainly need some more coverage on the fact that there's more than two parties and that there are more than two candidates.
Guaranteed air time legislation, with provisions for certain time periods so peopel can't be shafted to 3am, would go a long way to helping that.
 
Obama will win because of the thousands of fraudulent voter registrations. Yes. Acorn has been racking up these illegal registrants to swing the tide. Yes. Obama has paid for these guys to help him out. Corruption is abroad. God help us!
