I'm an avid poker fan and played a LOT of online poker in the early - mid 2000's. One of the prevailing trends on poker forums and the online poker community is that the majority of people were lifetime losers at the game. Sure they'd talk the talk, know their strategy, place in a tournament or win some money in a cash game... but when it came down to lifetime statistics they were net losers. Only a small percentage were net winners, and an even smaller percentage significant net winners.
So given the nature of the types of businesses discussed around here, I would suspect that while a lot of people may have had some success with online marketing only a handful have made any significant money and/or net profit in the long run.
Am I way off or is this an accurate reality check for a lot of people?
