I was wondering what everyone's thoughts are on what is enough data to make a decision. How many impressions are enough? How many clicks? How many conversions?

When is it time to make a decision to change something about your campaign?

I'm a noob, but in my experience, over 250-300 clicks with zero or very little conversions means it's time for a big change.

so assuming you have a few hundred keywords...you're spending thousands of dollars just testing a campaign? what if i cannot afford that on a test?

Not really. Usually I like to dive head first into about a dozen keywords. Bid high and not much tweaking. If after 250 clicks; the AD is either breaking even, or close to breaking even; then I know I have a winner. I few tweaks to the AD, the landing page and my bids; and now I have a 100%+ ROI Campaign.

But before you start PPC; you must have money. Not only that, but you must have money to burn. In 9/10 situations; you will lose money in new campaigns. If you don't have at least $1,000 to start with; then don't even give PPC another thought.

Also, it's never really a few thousands dollars. I usually spend $400-$600 in testing before I have a positive ROI.

What are the "tweaks" you are referring to? Can you list some examples of the tweaks you're doing? Also if you bid high, you don't know how fast your traffic will come in. Example: I tried to do this a couple weeks ago and ended up spending $200 in an hour. How can I find out what I need to tweak if the traffic comes in that fast?

or what kind of data do you base your tweaks on? I always hear of people saying to keep tweaking but, how do you know what to tweak? or how to tweak? or what kind of data do you base your tweaks on?
