How much potential does this site have?

Main kw 5500 exact 1.75 cpc 1.00 oci serpiq 48 Currently ranked 45

I'm on the first page with a handful of longtails, all less than 1k searches and get about 1k uniques a month. Bounce rate is high at 80%. Tried affiliates and amazon and got a lot of clicks but little conversions. Put up some adsense and it now makes 40-50$ a month. This is my first site so I feel pretty good about that, but would like to make more :). I have bought a couple spammy link packages that didn't seem to do much but I have built some decent legit links too.

What's the best way to attack the main kw? And how much should I be willing to invest to do so? I'm thinking about buying some quality pr6 blog posts but they are expensive! Would it be worth it?
 


It depends on your skill set. First thing I would do, is STOP buying inbound link efforts immediately. Attempt to reduce your bounce rate first. Want to know how? How about using Google's leaked guide to their search engine quality control? It talks about finding and qualifying "thin affiliate sites" (sounds like your site). So no matter what you do, you are headed for a manual review, and this means a complete drop from the SERP. Have quality "contact information". Privacy Policy, Make sure the site doesn't Look like a spam or a MFA site.

Thanks for the link. Will definitely read later. My site has 13 pages, not including contact, privacy, about page and I am working out putting a faq together. I get a handful of hits from facebook and yahoo mail so I feel like the site is helpful to the non bounces and is something that people want to share. But I'm sure the content could be improved.

You may be better of with Amazon or some aff network than with AdSense. Your site should pre-sell the product. What you want to achieve is get visitor into a buying mode before he leaves your site to Amazon or somewhere else.
